## **Trustee Annual Report Form – Template** This template is to provide guidance to units who are completing a Trustee Annual Report for the NI Charity Commission. If you do not wish to use this form please ensure that the headings in this guidance are followed when completing a Trustee Annual Report. ## **All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.** **The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.** Name of Charity as it appears on the Register and any other names it may be known by 1[st] Randalstown Rainbow Unit NI Charity Commission Number 104843 The principal address of the Charity- this should be the address that was used at the time of registration with the Charity Commission 19 The Gables Randalstown BT41 3JY The names of all Charity Trustees on the date the report was approved and all individuals who served as Charity Trustees during the year Donna Lennon Emma Jane Sloan The financial year the report relates to – for example, 1[st] April 2016 to 31[st] March 2017 1[st] January 2023 to 31 December 2023 A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year Our unit had 10 consistent Rainbows during the period of 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023. During the year, Rainbows took part in several activities to gain badges such as Chinese New Year, Be Well Theme Award and Skills for My Future Theme Awards, Dance, Construction & Promise badges. These badges enhanced the girls’ teamwork and communication skills alongside developing their creativity and self-confidence. Rainbows took part in Easter crafts, Mother’s Day crafts, Halloween crafts and Christmas crafts during our Tuesday evenings. In January, girls continued with a new award “Be Well” where they had to complete Unit Meeting Activities and skills builders. Girls completed their Stage 1 Fruit and Veg badge and were able to make healthy fruit skewers. We had CMC Dance visit the Rainbows for three weeks to allow them to complete their “Be Well” theme award which is all about looking after yourself. Girls took part in a series of activities outside in the summer months while the weather was good which consisted of outdoor play, rounders, outdoor cooking, and other outdoor fun. Our final event before the summer concluded with a joint BBQ between Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section across the units where we had bouncy castles before breaking up for the holidays. In September, girls continued with a new award “Skills for My Future” where they had to complete Unit Meeting Activities and skills builders. Girls completed their Stage 1 Construction badge and got the chance to find out about the building blocks of construction and to solve problems while communicating clearly and listening to others, give instructions and practice logistical skills. Rainbows got to discover what nonnewtonian fluid is, remove and replace batteries, create underwater fireworks and completed their construction interest badge to allow them to gain their theme award. Rainbows took part in several Christmas crafts and concluded for Christmas with making cards and sweet trees then held a party with Brownies and Guides. **There was no private benefit flowing from the purpose and there is no harm flowing from the purpose of Girlguiding Ulster.** A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance All Trustees of this charity are aware of the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance. A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year Income - £1,217.09 Expenditure £1,341.30 Balance at end of year £2,574.82 There are no debts and the unit is in a healthy financial position. Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit There is no deficit.
