Coyle'5 Cottage Women s Group
The Women s Group was founded in 1993 to provide a meeting place for
women from the Lough Shore area and its sutyoundings. The group PTovides
place for social interdction and recreational activities. where women can talk
freely about their lives and issues and receive a warm welcome in a comfortable
eni'ironmenl without judgement or prejudice.
Coyle's Cottage Women s Group was Set up to provide a meeting place for local
women from an i501ated rural area to decrease isolalion and increase welfare
awareness. It also provided a centre where they can benefit from a rdnge of
actil'ities and leam skills in crochei knitting, quilling and art work.
Classes in traditional crafts such as 5ewin& knitting and crochet are pmvided.
The group also knit crochet hats and blankets for the prematur¢ baby units in the
local hospilal.
At Christmas the group liaise with a Needy Children charity and knit outfits for
dolls and make soft toys for the charity. They also make patchwork gift cracker5
and knitted Christmas stockings for a local Children's group, as well as making
festive door wreaths.
The group meet weekly for Iwo houT5 and pay £2.(￿ admission. Tea and ￿oneS
are proi'ided.

Due to COVID and illness WTthin the group no outside tutors were employed
and the group did nol attend any crnft exhibition5. Hopefully next year the
group will embrace thi5 again.
