We are proud to rq)ort progrcss in the development of our Day op￿rtUnitIeS provision through our
Growing Together Programme. This is desI￿ed to meet the The￿S of two groups. Firstly> our service
users who ar¢ adults with disability, learning disability. physical disability, autism spectrLllll conditions,
sensory loss, mental health problcms - oftcn a combination. Se£ondly a Community Shed in which
local volunteers who work in or use the facilkty of the Walled Garden benefit from b¢ing in a beauti￿1
green 8pac¢, contact with plaDts and nature and b¢ing part of a community. It particularly addresses
isolation and the ongoing eifccts of Covid 19.

In thc year 2023-2024 the prOj￿t ran 4 days per wttk. We had 9 servic¢ us¢r8 who gr¢atly b¢n¢fitted
from their attendanc¢. Fe￿back from users, families and professionals is highly complimentary, It is
cIear that tbi8 is a vital servi¢¢.

During th¢ year we hav¢ provid¢d re81d￿tial care to 20 individuals who mak¢ Parkanaur their
pernwient home. Our vy and highly trained staff ensure that ￿sidentS, physical, rnental,
cmotional. and social needs are addr&8sed. Activities includ¢ outings. to Balnwral Show, Belfast
Chrislmas Mark¢t and Dublin Zoo being particularly valued, Shopping trips locally ar¢ also enjoye(L
LA)cal forests and pad(s, Explorius Aquari￿ Special Olynipics both athlelic5 and swinm]ing, Fit4You
alld the physical wellbeing programm¢ offered in Dung&Tmon IKisur¢ C¢ntre are all popular. Drama
classes in Cookstown included being part of a prnduction of "Happy ever Aftcrf, in the Burnavon
theatre. On site the walking club continues to bc w¢ll attended, walkitig mostly in the forest park which
surrounds our propety. Options iticlude gym and games roo￿ animal care looking after our chiGk¢ns
and rabbits, voluntcering including hclping in the kitche￿ being involved in n￿Intenance dllti￿ and
offic¢ or working in the Courtyard garden growing vegetablGS and flowers.
Fedback rec¢ivd from residents, their parents and pn)fe&8ionals is always very positive, which is
reflthd in the monthly Trustee reports and in RQIA inspection reports,

We accommodated 10 indiviiknls. It is clear that th￿¢ is much unm¢t need for this service which is
dKply appr¢ciated by those who stay with us and their families. Th¢ 8¢tting. range of activiti¢s
availabl4 cxc¢llcnt fo(Ml and outings creat¢ an enjoyable stay while allowing some ￿sPite for families.
We are constrained by lack of spac¢ and hop¢ in the futurc to include this service in our ongoing plan to
increase provision by bringing unused buildill8s back into ￿￿e.

We al80 enjoy coopcration with Sp¢dwell a charity for children promoting cro&8 con]munity
understanding though shared outdoor activity. Our joint working included rum]ing a very successful
Christmas Fair.
A new development is that on one day ¢acb w￿k senior pupils from Speffinview School attend the
wallcd gard¢n where they receive imstrnction and practical cxp¢ri¢oo¢ ill cvery aspect of caring for
plant8. This is valued by thc pupils and staff of Sperrlnview.
Development ofbuildings
Throughout 2023-2024 we have continued to work on the need to preserve and develop our listed
buildings, whioh are an important part of the built heritage of liorth¢rn Ir¢land. W¢ hav¢ consult
widely Oll the possibilities of bringing back into use outbuildings which are eurrently derelict. At the
end of the 2023-2024 year we have secured grants to allow us to undertake a Phase 2 viabdity study in
thc next fmancial year. This is an important step in our plans to bring these buildings back into us¢ to
meet the Identifi￿ needs of thos¢ with disabilities and will culrninate in the production of detailed plans
for our proposed development. We are grateful for the ¢xpertise and work of Stephen Mathews in his
capacity as Business Consultant to the Trust.
All our work bellefits from tbe involvement and support of th¢ locat community. This includes
Ca8tlecaulfield HorticUlt￿[al Socicty. Spealwell who are our neIg1￿)urS on site, J(Kal politicians and
local residents who use the forest park for rccrcation and are very supp)rtive of our work. We are very
grat¢ful to have a t¢am wO￿l￿g 2 days per week maintaining our ext¢nsiv¢ grounds. This freely given
worfc greatly thnccs our environment.

Going concern
The trnstees have reviewed the appropriat¢ness of the prq)ardtion of the financial statements on a
'going con¢¢rn' basis. We have reviewed the level of ￿servcS at the y¢ar-¢nd date and the financing
secured for th¢ ncxt ycar and w¢ content, that these are sufficient albeit reprG8ent a challenging
fmancial environmenL We th¢rcfor¢ Lx)nclud¢ that it is appropriate to adopt the going concern basis in
prcparing thc annual report and fjnancial statonents.

Th¢ Ch￿lty,S policy is to n￿Intain an appropriate reserves base which 18 essential for to manage risk
