a successful transition to adult life. We encourage and support leamffs to be ambitious, to rcalise their
aspirations and to develop the skills to make progr¢ss towards their goals. Our vision is that all young

Residenlial care
During the y&qr we have provided rGsidential carc to 19 individuals. Our highly tixined and
cxperi¢nccd staff have ensL￿ed that r¢sid¢nts' physicaL mental, emotional, and social needs are
addressed. Activities curtailed in recent years bave been AEstored including outings, Spccial Olympie8
both athletics and swimmi￿, drama class¢s, walking club. allin￿l care, volunteering, Art Competition,
Donaghmorc Credit unlo￿ Christmas shoppin& working in the garden and college's kitch¢
Feedback received from residents, their parents and pn)fe&sionals is always very tK)sitive, wbich reflects
in th¢ monthly TrLts rcp)rts and in RQIA inspection reports.

IV¢ now have a Support￿ living tah9nt in an aparttnent in the College.
Short br¢akw
We bave been able to increase provision of short stay break4 fornierly 'respite' and r￿lltlY curtailed
by Covid.19 constraints. We a¢con]modat￿ I l individuals. It is Glear that the￿ is much unmet need
for this scrvicc atLd wc plan to incr¢as¢ provision.
Day opportunities
Much focus has been on the development of our Day Opportunities service. In the year 2022-2023 we
bad 6 users, all of whom enjoyed alld d¢rivcd gr¢at bai¢fit from attending. Feedbaek from users,
famili&g and profcssional includillg social workffs has been very good. One parent statd, "We arc
greatly indebted to Parkanaur for the wonderfid, positive opportunity that it provid&8 M" Another
parent commente4 "C loves his day at PaTkaTwir. For him it is a day of work. For me it is a placement
where I know he gets instDJCtion and the support he needs to cary out meanin￿1 tasks that improvc
his range of skills. There is a spirit of cooperation between thc rcsidents alld the day opportunity EUYS.
I know he is treateAI as an individual and given tirn¢ and Spa￿ to develop an inter￿t in a range of
practical duties. He likes being helpful and usefid aThl particularly lik&8 being outdoors. H¢ would like
to develop his horticulthre skills. H¢ has matured and becom¢ a little more independent. He is able to
undertake more prnjeGts at home and is practised in taking instructions. He has also nwde fricnds and
been welcomed into the Parkanaur commuDity"

Througbout the year wc havc consulted wid¢ly cxploring th¢ needs and views of those with learning
and other disabilities, their families, Health Trnsts and Special sc]]ools. Ther¢ is widespread &gr¢¢m¢nt
on the need for more provision and support for our plans for further ¢xpanding Day Opportunities.

The outcome of our consultation and exploration has been the birth of a prOj￿t namol 'ThDwing
Togethef,. This has two key elemfflis w0￿1ng in combination. Thc first is the provision of Day
Opportunities to thos¢ with a range of disabiliti&8 - including Learning Disability> Autiry M¢ntaL
health problems and physical disability. The second element is of a CommuDity Shed, both ¢lcrncnts
initially b&sed in our large Walled gard￿L This will build on our cxisting provision Éo local users and
our residents. Th¢ Community sljed element is in ￿%ponSe to much evidence of the benefits of
involvement in such projeots to the physical and mental bealth of participants. addr&ssing isolation and
including thos¢ advws¢ly aff￿t￿ by Covid-19. 11 fits with our shared use of the walled gardell with
Casdecaulfield Horticulture Society* who continue to make a very imwrtant contribution to the car¢

Development of buildings
Another focus of the year 2022-2023 I￿ been on the need to presffv¢ our listd buildings, wbich are an
important part of thc built IwitagG of Northcrn JrGland. Wc havc cA)Dsultcd widcly on th¢ possibiliti¢s
0£ bringing back into use outbuildings which are curr•ttly derelAct. There has been progress on plans to
bring th&8e buildings back into use to m¢¢t thc id¢lltified nccds of those with di8abiliti&8.

CaStl￿aulfi¢ld Horticultural Socicty, Specdw¢ll who ar¢ our neighbours on sitc, local politicians and
local r&sid¢nts who usc the forest park for recreation and are very supportive of our wo￿. We ar¢ vcry
gratethl to have a team wolking 2 days per rnalri￿g our ¢xt¢tJsiv¢ grounds. This fretly given

Financial review
Going Coneern
The t￿￿(¢¢& have rcviewcd the appropriateness of the prq)aration of the financial statements on a
'going concern, basis. We have reviewed th¢ I￿e1 of r¢s¢rv¢s at the ycar-cnd date and the financing
s￿Ured for th¢ ncxt year arAd wc are conteni tbat these are sufficient albeit reprtgent a challenging
financial envimmnent. Wc therefore conclude that it is appropriate to adopt the going concem basis in
prq)aring th¢ annual Tq)ort and financial statements.

Reserves policy
The charity's policy is to maintain ￿ appropriate reserves base which ig essential for to manag¢ risk

The company is limited by guarantee and ha8 no share capital. The liability of the members is limited
