During the sutnmer. we held a chilthens holiday bi￿￿ club calkd ￿piC Explorers" and th¢n took part in a commtsoity day in Maghera Walled GaTden by ￿ttl￿g up a BBQ StsD As we kicked off the new church year in September, we did so by setting up a family 'Pr3yer Trdil" aTound the Rectory ground5 and we held a-24-Hour Prayer" evenL which invited members of th¢ Parish and Cornm￿)￿ty to bring aIl their cares- spiritua], ernotionaL prdCticaL to God- for themselves the ParislL and the COEnmunity. All weTe welcorll¢ and St Lurach's Church ￿Mained open throughout the night to be accessible to everyone in Maghera and iwond. Addiiionaily, we hostd a children's Christmas party and enjoyed a children's Nativity Play. In Decernber: along with a return of the Parish Cbristsnas dinner, a special series of events and seryices w¢re held to cel¢brate the true meaniTJg of Christmas. The theme w&5 a"Christmas of Carols" during which we took all the favotirite carols and used them to explain how they tom the Chri5tiDas ￿Ory. Such events included traditional church servie4 an ecument¢al Carol rvice hp.ld in aid of "Cancer Rese2r¢h'. a very surr￿] -community Caro15 by MwiiligtJl- lirld ill the Rectory ground4 a "Fiv¢ Lessons and Carols" ser¥ic£ at'Mut]agh Court" shehered hous1￿ and a"P8risbioneVs Favouritr Carols- serviee. We believe that the Parith of St Lurnch'& Magherd & Kiltelagh has Meaningfi￿lY delivered tts aims and objectives. The ¢harity listed as "St Lurdch's ParislL Magherd" h&$ givell careful consideration to the'charity Commissioo forNI' guidanct on public benefit to ensure that the aclivities entered inw during the year have helped to achieve the parish objective5 and activities as well as providxng public benelit to the wider community. All in alL we are ple&%ed that ow recovery froTn the effects and impact of COVtD are palpable and we intend to carry fon¥ard a]1 the good wotk done and completed by the elld of 2023.
