– Annual General Vestry / Trustees Meeting Derg Parish Church
The meeting took place on Mon 20[th] April,2026 at 7.30pm in Derg Parish Church.
Attendance was as List of Trustees, less three apologies – Andrew Crawford, Erica Reid and Suzanne Dinsmore.
Canon Peter Ferguson welcomed members and opened with Bible reading and prayer.
He then gave a review of the main events of 2025, including several successful fundraising events for our proposed new Parish Centre. This led to the decision to go to tender in October,2025, with tenders received 31[st] October. A Main Contractor was appointed , following the recommendation of our professional team, and work commenced 9[th] Feb,2026.
Canon Ferguson paid tribute to several members, who gave of their time and talents to help bring this about. He also thanked all who had contributed to the efficient running of the Parish throughout the year – in particular, our Hon Secretary, Hon Treasurer, Glebes Committee, Fundraising Committee, Youth Leaders and Project Management Committee.
The Hon Treasurer, Mr J Harron, distributed copies of the Financial Report for the period 1[st] Jan – 31[st] Dec,2025.
He gave a detailed talk on the figures, and explained various items in response to queries from members. After discussion, it was agreed on proposal of Mrs S Scott, seconded by Mr R Montgomery , that the accounts be adopted.
The Chairman thanked the Hon Treasurer for a very detailed, clear account of transactions for the year. Thanks were extended to Mrs Ellen Darragh, Hon Auditor.
All offices were declared vacant, and Elections took place.
No new members as Trustees, and some Select Vestry positions were re-allocated as follows :-

Peoples Churchwarden Mrs Sharon Scott
The Chairman congratulated the newly elected members.
The meeting closed with the Grace.
