## **Annual General Vestry Meeting.** 

19[th] April, 2024. 

Rev Peter Ferguson occupied the Chair, and welcomed everyone, especially Rev Claire to her first Annual General Vestry Meeting. 

## Opening Worship. 

The Chairman opened the Meeting with Scripture Reading from 1[st] Peter Ch 5 V1-4, where Peter is encouraging Church Leaders in the persecuted Church, followed by Prayer. 

Apologies. 

Apologies were received from Mrs C Reid and Mr A Crawford. Rector’s Address. 

The Rector in his address said he was greatly encouraged and reminded us that we were all servants. He thanked all who serve in Derg Parish, The Treasurer, the Secretary, Our Sexton, our Parish Readers, Organist, Erica, Regan and Malcolm, our Youth Leaders, our Sunday School Leaders, Rev Claire who he said was a valued Colleague, Bishop Andrew, Rae England and Eleanor Smyth for all the beautiful floral arrangements, the Diocesan Youth Workers, Sarah Emerson Scripture Union, Mothers Union, Select Vestry for their efforts with the Future Fund, The Glebes Team for all their work and finally to all outgoing Select Vestry. 

The Rector highlighted a few of the memorable highlights of the past year- JOY, (Just Older Youth) Confirmation with Bishop Andrew, Rev Claire’s Ordination, Ignite Youth Activities, Derg Parish Sessions at the Apple Fair, Harvest Festival Services, Cantilena Concert, Remembrance Services, culminating with all our Christmas Services and a very special SANDS Light of Love Service. 

A minutes silence was observed to remember all those who had lost loved ones in the Parish throughout the year. 

## Minutes. 

The Minutes of the previous Annual General Vestry Meeting were agreed and signed. 

## Adoption of Financial Report. 

On the Proposal of Mrs I Barclay, Seconded Mrs I Montgomery, the Accounts were formally adopted. The Chairman thanked Mr J Harron and Mr K Brown for all their work in preparing the Financial Report. 



Before the Election the Chairman again paid tribute to the Glebe Wardens for all they do in relation to glebes.

The Chairman congratulated the Newly Select Vestry on their Appointment and in conclusion, a minutes silence was observed to reflect and give thanks for all our Blessings during the past year and a minutes silence as we look forward to the incoming year. 

The Meeting closed with the Grace.
