The trustees present their Trustees, Report and the unaudited financial statements for Ihe financial year ended 31
December 2022.
The financial statements are prepared in accordance with FRS 102 Yhe Financial Reporting Standard applicable in
the UK and Republic of Ireland. and Accounting and Reporting by Charities- Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable to charities preparing their financial slatefflents in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in th8 UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102}.
The Tnjstees, Report contains the information required lo be prowded in the Tnjstees, Annual Report under the
stalem&nl of Recommended Practice ISORP) guidelines.
In this report the trusteès of Hill Street Presbyterian Church present a summary of its purpose, govemance, aclivilies,
achievements and finances for the financial year 31 December 2022.
Review of Activities, Achievements and Perfomiance
Hill Street Presbyterian Church exists to lead people lo saving Faith in Jesus. lo bring them to maturity within the
fellowship and to encourage them to worship God in Spirit and Truth. and with lives of service.
Financial Review
The results for the financial year are set out on page 7 and addItsC￿81 notes are provtded showing income and
axpendilure in g￿ater detail.
Results and Dlvldends
At the end of the financial year the charity has assets of £1.034.454 {2021 - £950.5151 and liabilities of £1.42012021
- £1,3001- The net assets of the charity have increased by £83,819.
Reserve5 Posltion and Policy
The Trustees have considered the level of unrestricted reserves that is appropilate to hold taking account of current
and ongoing commitments. It is the policy of the Trustees to hold at least 12 months nomal expenditure. Al the year
end the unreslricled reseNes We￿ £555,268. The Trustees consider it prudent to hold ￿seNe$ at this level as thé
funding of ils present activities is dependent of the ongoing financial support of members.
Principal Risks and Un¢ertaintles
A review of major risks has been undertaken by the Trustees and systems and procedures implemented to manage
identified risks. The principal risks are in relation to the likelihood of ￿putational damage and financial rlsks
associated with the expectation of ongoing financial support from members. These risks are mitigated by the
Trustees. and the Congregational Committee, regulatly monitoring the various activities of the congregation at stated
eelings and by encouraging members in their regular giving.
Going Con¢ern
The activities of the Cong￿gatiOn are dependent on ongoing contributions from its members. The Trustees a￿ of the
opinion Ibal the congregation has sufficient resources at the dale of approval of these financial statements lo meet
commitments which will arise in the year trom the date of signing this report and subj8Ct to tha continuing support
from members to fund on an ongoing basis the cOng￿gatiOn'S currenl activities and other financial commitments.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES
for the financial year ended 31 December 2022
The trustees are responsible for preparirwJ the finanaal statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland requires the trustees to p￿pa￿ financial statements for each
financial year which give a true and fair view of the assets, liabilits.es and financial position of the charity as al thè
financial year end date and of the surplus or deficit ol the charrty and otherwise comply with the Chariues Act
(Northern Ireland) 2008.
In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to..
select suitable accountsng policies and apply them consistenly.,
observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and pr￿￿ent..
slate whether the financial ststements have been prepared in accordance with the relevant financial reporting
framework, ￿￿entIfy those standards, and note the effect and the reasons for any material departu￿ from those
standards", and
prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity
will continue in operation.
The trustees confitm that they have complied with the above requirements in prepanng Ihe financial statements.
The trustees are ￿sponsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficienl to show and explain the
charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any lime the financial position of the charity and
enable them lo ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act {Northem Irelandl 2008. They are
also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable Steps for the prevention
and deleth'on of fraud and other iffegularities.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF HILL
STREET PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
We have examined the financial statements of the charity for the financial year ended 31 December 2022, which
comprisè the Statement of Finanaal Actsvrties. the Balance Sheet and the ￿lated notes.
This ￿port is made solely to the charity's members, as a body, in accordan￿ with the Charities Act {Northern
Ireland) 2008. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the financial statements that we have been
engaged to compile, report to the Trustees that we have done so, and state those matters that we have agreed lo
slate to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extenl pemiitted by law. we do not accept or
assume responsibility lo anyone other than the charity and the charity's members, as a body, for our work, or for this
report.
Respective responslbillties of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparatson of the finanual statements in acLordance with the
requirements of the Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required
for this financial year under the Chanttes Act {Northem Ireland) 2008 and that an independent examination is
required.
It is our responsibility to=
examine the financial statements under section 65 of the Charities ACL
follow the procedures laid down by the general Directions 9iven by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland
under section 6519){b) of the Charities Act.. and
state whether particular matters have come to our attention.
Basls of indopendent examinerfs report
We have examined your charity financial statements as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and our
examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northem
Ireland under sects.on 65191{b} of the Charities Act An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept
by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disdosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations trom the
trustees Con￿rning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be
required in an audit and conseqtsenlly no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fairf view
and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Hill Street Presbyterian Church is a charity incorporated in Norlhem Ireland. The registered Offi￿ of the
company is 6 Applevale, Portadown, Co. Armagh, BT63 5YG, United Kingdom which is also the principal
place of business of the charity- The financial statements have b86n presented in Pound Sterling {£) which is
also the functional currency of the charity.
SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The followng accounting policies have been applied consistently in dealing with items which are considered
material in relation to the charity's financial statements.
Basls of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared on the going concem basis under the historical cost
convention, modified to include certain items at fair value. The financial statements have been prepared in
accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice {SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities
preparing their accounts in accor(lance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland FRS 102".
As pemiitted by the Companies Act 2006, the charity has varied the standard fomiats in that act for the
Statement of Financial Acb'vities and Ihe Balance Sheet. Departures from the standard fomiats are lo comply
with the requirements of the Charities SORP and are in compliance wllh section 4.7, 10.6 and 15.2 of that
SORP.
Statement of compliance
The financial ststements of the charity for the financial year ended 31 December 2022 have been prepared
on the going concem basis and in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORPI
"Accounting and Reporting by Charities p￿paring their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland FRS 102..
Incoming Resources
Voluntary income or capital is included in the Statement of Financial Aclivities when the charity is legally
entitled to it, its financial value can be quantified with reasonable certainty and there is reasonable certainty of
its ultimate receipt. Entitlement to legacies is considered established when the charity has been notified of a
distribution to be made by the executors. Income received in advance of due perfomance under a contract is
accounted for as deferred income until eamed. Grants for activities are recognised as income when Ihe
related conditions for legal entitlement have been met. All other income is accounted for on an accruals basis.
Income from charitable activities
Income from charitable activities include income eamed from the supply of seNicès under contractual
arrangements and from performance related grants which have conditions that specify the provision of
particular services to be provided by the charity. Income from govemment and other Covfunders is recognised
when the charity is legally entitled to the income because it is fulfilling the conditions contained in the related
funding agreements. Where a grant is received in advance, its recognition is deferred and included in
creditors. Where entitlement occurs before income is recetved, it is accrued in debtors.
Grants from govemments and other c(Ffund6rs typically include one of the following types of conditions:
Performance based conditions.. whereby the charity is contractually entitled to ftjnding only to Ihe extent that
the core objectives of the grant agreement are achieved. Where the charity is meeting the core objectives of
a grant agreemant. it reccKJnises the related expenditure. to the extent that it is reimbursable by the donor, as
income.
-Time based conditions.. whereby the charity is wntractually entitled to funding on the condition Ihat it is
ulilised in a particular period. In these cases the chartty recognises the income to the extent it is utilised within
the period specified in the agreement.
In the absence of such conditions, assuming that receipt is probable and the amount can be reliably
measured, grant income is recognised once the charity is notified of entillement.
Grants received towards capital expenditure are credited to the Statement of Financial Activities when
received or receivable. whichever is eadier.

Resources Expended
Expenditure is recognised on an accruals basis as a liability is incurred. Expenditure includes any VAT
which cannot be fully recovered. and is reported as part of the expenditure to which it relates.
Other charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and
seNices for its beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activities and those
costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.
Central Church Assessments are paid annualty by quartedy instalments.
Ministry and Support staff are paid in accordance with agreed terms and conditions and for the direct benefit
of the chartty's congregation.
Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost or at valuation, less accumulated depreciation. The charge to
depreciation is calculated to WTite off the original cost or valuation of tangible fixed assets. less their estimated
residual value. over their expected useful Irves as follows..

Investments
Investments held as fixed assets are stated at cost less provision for any pemanent diminution in value.
Income from other ffinancial fixed asset investrnents together with any related tax credit is recognised in the
profit and loss account in the year in which it is receivable.
Debtors
Debtors are rec(MJnised at the settlement amount due after any discount offered. Prepayments are valued at
the amount prepaid net of any trade discounts due. Income recognised by the charity from govemment
agencies and other c(Ffunders, but not yet received al year end, is included in deblors.
Cash at bank and in hand
Cash at bank and in hand comprises cash on deposit at banks requiring less than three months notice of
withdrawal.
Taxation and deferred taxation
No current or dèferred taxation arises as the charity has been granted charitable exemption. Irrecoverable
valued added tax is expensed as incurred.

TRUSTEES. REMUNERATION
One of the Trustees. the Minister of the congregation, received remuneration and allowances of £51,057 for
acting in that capacity. Pension contributions of £10,722 were paid by the congregation in respect of th8
Minister to the Presbyterian Church in Ireland Pension Scheme120091. The Associate Minister of the
congregation is also a Trustee and received rernuneration and allowances of £32,804 for acting in that
capacity- Pension contributions of £6,699 were paid by the congregation in respect of the Associate Minister
to the Presbyterian Church in Ireland Pension Scheme (2009). No trustee received remuneration or expenses
during the year in connection with their duties other than those mentioned above.

There have been no significant events affecting the Charity Sin￿ the financial year-end.
