The annual general meeting of Friends of Gambia (NIC104757) was held on 30/09/2024. All persons who served as trustees on this date attended the meeting.

No other persons served as trustees for the charity during the financial year 2023/2024.

At the meeting the work carried out by the charity for the financial year 2023/2024 was discussed. All trustees have had regard for the commission’s public benefit requirement statutory guidance.

The charities main work throughout the year was again child education. 10 children currently have their school fees, uniforms and books paid for. These are all paid for via donations given to the charity.

The Charities financial report for 2023/2024 then presented to the trustees. It shows the charity received £2980 10 donations and had expenses of £2913 which left a profit of £67. Leaving the charity with a total of £3792 in the bank.

No funds held by the charity are in deficit.

No funds held by the charity as a custodian trustee.

Expenses this year were for school fees and associated expenses and previously discussed it was agreed to upgrade the borehole at Bansang to solar power. The cost of this was £1253.

The charity was founded by a constitution formally adopted at its inaugural meeting on 18/10/2007 which states ‘’ the association is established to support any charitable project in the Gambia’’ and lists the main objectives as:

Trustees agreed that all was in order with our accounts and approved their publication (subject to them being approved by an independent examiner) and that all work carried out in the year stated fell in line with our constitution objects and charity register purposes.
