In January 2024 there were 14 girls in the unit. After returningfrom their Christmas holidays
they all completed their Personal Brand interest badge and achieved the Girlguiding Know
Myself theme. The girls enjoyed a visit from Jurassic Ark allowing them the opportunityto
learn about and handle many different animals. They also completed the Tyrone County
Craft Challenge decorating a plate to depict their happy place and worked towards their
Ulster Scots badge, learning about the language, recognising different tartans and baking
soda farls. They corresponded with a Guide Unit in Scotland sending Thinking day greetings.
The girls enjoyed outdoor activities and completed the Explore Stage 3 Skill Builder and the
Girlguiding Have Adventures theme award having completed their Backwoods Cooking
badge. They enjoyed traditional Guiding outdoor activities including scavenger hunts.
lighting c8mpfires and experimenting with different cooking methods. The girls took part in
the Tyrone County Outdoor Patrol Challenge in Drum Manor Forest Park and an evening at
Splash Waterpark in Moneymore, before the summer break. Eight Girls gained their Guide
Silver Award and six gained thelr Guide Silver Award.
In September we returned with 22 Guides. We focused on the Guide Promise and Laws at
the beginning of the new term and began work on the Girlguiding Live Smart skill builder
learning to make wise choices such as helpingthe environment and saving money. The girls
enjoyed carving pumpkins, attended the Remembrance Service in our Parish Church and
enjoyed a pre-christmas shopping trip to Rushmere.
There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and that there was no private
benefit.
