CHAIR'S BUSINESS Mabel thanked the committee for the SUPFK)rt they gave throughout the year, aSso Lauren {BHSCT Adviser) and Gail (LCCC llItator) and the loyalty of members attending monthly rneetings. The Chair went on to say that Castlereagh festyle forum focuses on health and well-being, community safety and social isolation of older people. Speakers and social events are aanged to give variety to the particular needs and self awareness on how to stay healthy and well. ELECTION OF NEW COMMirrEE At this p)int Laurence Ferguson t(d( over the Chair for the election of new committee. The present committee were then stwd down. Rosemary Ruddy had forwarded her resignation from role as Treasurer due to ill health. Grace MUhY previously menttoned thal she did not wish to be elected as TaSurer or any other ro. The e¢tion of new committee was by voting slips. Laurence collected these and the major4ty result was Mabel and Dolly were re-elecled to their previous role as Chair and
Secretary, Kate Glackin was nominated as Treasurer. Kate declined the offer. Laureno then put it to the floor rf anyone was interested in the role of Tieasurer. Kenneth Jamison agregj he would accept position of Treasurer. Laurence also asked for a further two members who would support the mmittee. Kale Glackin and Pead Steele both agreed that their names go fotward. GUEST SPEAKER Mabel introduced the Chief Executs've Officer, Age Sector Platfomi, responsible for the People's Partiament. Eamon Donaghy gave an ovemew of the work of People's Padiamenl and he invikd members to ask questions. Everyone found the infoaon inforynative and usefvl. 10. Awareness of Scams, eg cold callers. identity theft etG. After talk there was time for questions and answers. Leaflets explaining scams and cont1 numbers were circulated to members. Safety in the Horne and keeping wami well during cold spells. CLFjoined Intercultural group for a taster session of Arts and Crafts and fcth sampling. Invitations were extended to groups throughout South and East Caslereagh. Around 50 Seniors attended the lebratIon ofAftemoon Tea, music, dancing and getbng to know one another. Also in attendan Deputy Mayor of LCCC and Casliereagh Councillors. w11 lo meet South West Ageing Partnership {SWAPI [Feanagh and Omh} at Wisilors Cenlre, Enniskillen. We heard how their Board works and together we looked al what Castlereagh Lifestyle fowm could aspire to. They are skilled at representing Mews of older Feople to decision makers. After lunch we were taken on a guided tour of museum.
