year {SepteAnber - June). We offer ￿'0- and three-qliaiter hoiirs of pre-schnnl education. five days a week
to children of f￿nilIeS in the surroiindtng area regardleis of disability. nationality, ethnic identity, political
or religioiis opinion. We deliN'er quality, pre-school education tkn'ough implenienting the NI pre-school
cui'I'iculum and ive arc inSpe￿ted b). ETI and NHSCT annually helping us to maintain high standards in all
areas of childknarc.

The fin￿]CIalISchool year of 1st Sept 2021 to 3 1st August ?02? opei.ated with one morning Presihool
sesslon. A total of ?6 Prciwhiiol childi'eii attended the Plaj'group in tlie year. assi>ted by 5 staff. During
which time DKP was able to offer ? Pre-Pre SCssÉOllS in the afternoon.
The playgroiip i'¢L)pened in September 2021 following the enforLed govemin¢nt lockdowns and assouiated
Covid-19 clnsureb of which CLilitinu¢d to at-fect attcndanbes of staff and childreii. It iTras a very challenging
time that tlie staff, the children, their parellts and committee had to navigate.
Earlv years: along with Primarv and Seiondarv school childreii r¢turned in Septcmbei. 2021 for a new
school j'ear. The pi-¢i'ious gUIdan￿e issued that focused on social distaLicino etc. li.as adliei'ed to witil siich

Tlie comiiiittee aj'e extremel) gE'ateful of the efforts bv the staff and parents to adhere to the health & safety
guidaii¥e and maxiinise the fight against Covid-19.
The coiiimittee are treiii¢ndousl!' proud of the staff who V¥ork¢d ewery day to ensure the childreii received
their early years education debplte all the concerns around Covid-19.
Fundi'aising activities that notmally take plakne each year were 8ieatly iinpacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Th¢ Christtiias Calendar did manage to take plaie proving to be a ￿"eat fiindraiser as well as a ￿tat keep
sak.e for parents and the childi'cii. The staff also had a pvjama dav for the children which ￿"aS a gi.eat
5UGG¢S5. The child￿n absolutely IoiKed it and it w.as a fant&stic fiindraiser.
Several graiits Nvei"e made a￿ailable diie to the pandemic. Tbese grants were a oreat help and lielped to
otyset the loss in fundraising. Tho also were to help coN'er the additioiial incurred due to the extra
cleaning aiid the PPE required due to Covid-19. We also i'eweived various ￿.￿ltS such as Engage I fiindiiig
and a siistainabilltv grant for maintenanLe.
