The Charitable purposes of charity are:

The purpose of the Dromara and District Community Art Group is to increase access to and practice of all forms of the visual arts in Dromara Village and the surrounding rural area. The benefit flowing from this purpose is to promote learning and practice of the visual arts for the community in these areas for which there is no suitable easily accessible public sector art classes. Interest and practice in all forms of visual arts can promote increased self esteem and confidence though the creation of a work of art. These benefits can be evidenced through the exhibition of member’s work at the Group’s Exhibitions held during the year for family, friends and the general public to view. The use of a Facebook page displays members work on a regular basis therefore further increasing interest and awareness leading to greater self esteem which aids a healthy lifestyle. Professional Artists are engaged to instruct in various mediums and techniques therefore increasing knowledge and encouraging members to look at art from different angles. Social interaction between the members over a wide age range is very important for a healthy lifestyle and having a mutual interest enhances this.

To further these purposes for the public benefit, we carried out the following activities:

The provision of morning and evening art groups facilitated by a professional artist over a period of thirty weeks between September 2022 and May 2023.

The main achievements of the Dromara & District Community Art Group in the year were:

Development and encouragement of new and existing arts based skills through the provision of tuition.

Exhibitions of members’ work open to the public at the Island Arts Centre in Lisburn and in Lisburn Library during the year.
