CARNLEA ORANGE HALL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE – REPORT BY CHAIRMAN HENDERSON BALLENTINE AND TRUSTEES .

The Committee and Trustees now see the hall emerging from the effects of the Covid pandemic and the usual organisations are now beginning to use the hall again. One unfortunate aspect was the demise of Killymurris (Carnlea) Bowling Club due to a lack of numbers.

The principal user is still the Toll Bar Dancers sequence dancing group and the hall is still being used by the local Orange Lodge as well as for County Orange and the occasional Orange District meeting.

Petticrew Memorial Accordion use the hall for practice.

The venue remains popular with the local community and there have been birthday parties, socials,= and fund raising by other groups. Now that Covid is no longer limiting use we are looking forward to busier times ahead.

We have not sought or received any funding. When originally formed we were glad to receive funding to update facilities and make improvements to reduce running costs etc. Our aim is always to make the hall self-sustaining with contributions from users to cover the running costs. That will continue to be our aim and there are at present no plans to access further funding.

We still continue to promote the hall among the local community (and further afield) for private functions like birthday parties, charity fund raising events, concerts, socials, gospel meetings and concerts and sports like badminton.
