The Charlty places a particular emphasis on its ministry to children and young people. In addttKin to Junior Church on Sundays the a regular artivities for teenagers. A staff member Is employed in the post of Ministry Assoclate. with particular emphasi5 on developing the ministry to children and young adults. The Charity works alongslde other churches in the Diocese and in the local area to deliver special ser115, actNities and outreach from time to time. It works to rnaintsin good cross communty relations with other organisations in the area. It has Ilnks to other agencies and missionary societies who are active on a global basis. It takes part in actlvlties at Diocesan level and within the wider Church of Ireland and Anglican c(Thmunion. The Maconachie Hall is used rt only for church activities but is also available to outside organi5ations whose purposes are not incompatible wlth the thaiitys aims and objectives. The Hall 15 well used and established as a kxal uoss communlty social faulity. Regular outside users include guiding group. fife and drum band, Bardening club, well being group and crothet dass. The Hall is also used on an occasional basis by local authority supported community events. The Trustees reseNe the ryht to consider all applications for use of the Charitys buildlngs agalnst the aims and objertives of the Charity to ensure that there is no incompatibility with the Chartty's core beliefs and purposes. Historic church records are made available to members of the publlc at rK* charge. The Church and Maconathie Hall have listed buildiw status apd the Charity is focused on keeplng them in a good state of repair. The trustees ensu that any works carried out are sympathetic to the listed status of the buikling and that approprlate statutory consents are obtained. The churchyard whlch also falts within the area subject to listed 5tatUS. ts well maintained and Insperted regularty for safety purposes by the thurch warden5. Church plate. linen and fumishiw are carefully maintsined and stored, prlrnar1 by the Caretsker. There are tsvo other buildings, for which the responsibillty for management rests with the Parish- the Rectory at Laurel Hill and the Curacrf at Ballycranny Drive. These are also maintained to a good standard. The property at Baltycranny Drive is rented out at a Market Rent to a family as it is not needed at present as a curacy. If it were to be needed for church use in the firture the lease would not be renewed. The tenants are Currently"holdi oveff on a month to month basi& This arrangement provides income for the charity and provides a famity with a home. The Charity has not newed Its lease on the property at Hazelbank Road which was occupied by the Ministry A55ociate but has taken out a lease on a property at Somerset ParL This Is a short temi arrdngement which can be renewed or not as quIred. A¢hl¢vements The achievements of the Parish actpiities are dernonstrated by the enthusiastic attendance at services and events, the addition of new members to the con8regation and by feedback from parlshoners and the general public who have 8ained benefit.
Restrfctlons on who can benefft In general. church actwities are available to all. free of charge. A small charge is made for some special Services. such as rnarria8es and funerals to cover expenses/heat and light. The use of the Hall is free to church groups. although some furKlraise to pay a contributlon towards the cost of providing the facility. Outside groups which use the Hall are experted to contribute towards the costs. The cost depends on the particular circumstances of the use and the extent of their use of the facility. Mltlzatlon of damagefvrni None of the artP4ities SuIt in harni or damage other than routine wear and tear of facilities whKh is addressed through regular maintenance. The Parish has procedures in place to ensure that it complies with all statutory and insurance requirements includin8 GDPR requirements, food hyglene and Health & Safety re8ulations. The Church of Ireland Safeguarding Trust policy is implemented and the Rector has confirrned to the Trustees that appropriate arran8ements are in pla. There are two member5 of staff. in additK)n to the Rector. who obtsin private benefft through their salaries. In additron there are three other individuals who receive a small payment for part tlme serrfices provided to assist the Rector in servin8 parishoners ty way of assisting at seNkes, vlsitln& and CordinatIng church mus. From time to time, other volunteers may obtain recompense for expenses incurred in carryin8 Out Parish attivities. All private benefft incurred is incldental to the operations and activities of the Charity. Attention is paid to approprlate employment legislation with regard to staff members and their pay and condttions. Flnanclal Infonnatlon The financial report is attached as an appendlx to this reix>rL An Independent examlnatlon of the Charlty accounts is undertaken by Paul A Taylor and Company. Chartered Accountants, which Is attached as an appendix to this pOrt. The trustees are satisfied that there are adequate fvnds in place to ensure that the Parish can continue its activities. None of the accounts have any deficits. A substsntial donation has been received during the course of the finanual year on stipulatlon by the donor that Tt is not to be used for general purposes. A decision has not been made as to how this donation will be used. The Rector has advised the Trustees that, although the Identity of the donor is not to be made public at the donoffs request, the Rector is satisfied that the donor Is in a poSin to legally make the donation. The donatlon Is included in the accounts. The Select Vestry maintsins a balance on unrestrthd funds, whe possible, to meet its financlal Ilabllltles and to provide a Sinki fijnd in respect of unexpected repairs or other expenditu.
