FOUNTAINVILLE SCOUT DEVELOPMENT TRusr CHARITY NUMBER 104694 ANNUAL REPORT I"APRIL 2023 TO 31- MARCH 2024 th The purpose, aims and objertives of the Trust are set out in the Deed of Trust, dated 19 November 1999, and the Memorandum of Understanding of the same date. The public benefit which arises from the purpose is the improvement in the capability of the Scout Groups in South Belfast to fulfil the aims and objettives of the Scout Movement being the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. To achieve this the Trust provides funding for identified needs of the Scout Groups and associated sections in South Belfast using income from investments managed by Trustees. Funds are made available upon successful application which must be in line with guidelines set by Trustees. Since the Trust was established following the sale of the District headquarters building which realised £113,916.70, Scout Groups, Explorer Units and individuals have benefitted from funding and support. As of 31 March 2024, the Trust Fund had a value of £185,173 between bank and investments. During 2023-2024, Scouting in South Belfast continued to support young people and adult volunteers through indoor and outdoor meetings, camps and special events. The Trust supported Scout Groups with a grant of £350 per Section providing Scouting experiences and skills for life. The Trust also supported an additional young person selerted to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) in South Korea. A total of £6,350 The Trustees have continued to meet to fulfil the Trusys administrative commitments.
