The members are pleased to present their annual report and the financial statements for the year ended
31 March 2017.
Governance Management
The charity is governed by its COlls1itulion enacted on the 25 January 201 l. The constitution provides that
the charity shall be adminisiered and managed in accordance with the constitution by the meinbers of the
committee.

Objectives and Activities
Tlie charity's objective is to maintaiii the ¢ultur¢ and diverse needs of Muslim families of the Craigavon
area by associating ihe statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a
commoii effort to adyancc cducalion, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation
and other leisure lime occupation, with the object of improving tlie conditions of life and in particular..
a) To maintain, manage and cooperate with any local authority in thc Jnainlenance of a centre in the
area for benefit of activities promoted by the association.
b) 'fo proiT]Ote good relations between persons of different racial groups generally, and particularly
b¢tw¢en racial groups professiiig the Muslim faith and all other inhabitants of the Craigavon ar¢a.
Achievements and Perform2nee
Throughout the year the organisation continued to pursue ils goal of providing support to the Muslim
community of Craigavon and in particular in encouraging and organising the following activities-.
l. Family support and counselling.
2. Parenting discussion and training groups.
3. Children's education- Quran. Islamic manneis and Arabic.
4. Special trroups for young Muslims.
5. Regular worksliops for all faJnily tnembers.
6. Education for adults.

Financial Review
The results for the year and the charity's financial position at the end of the year are set out in the attached
accounts.
Plans for Future Periods
The organisation plans lo continiie its efforts of encouraging and organising the activities outlined above.

The Charities A¢1 (Northem Ireland) 2008 require unincorporated charities to ensure that accounting
recoi'ds are kept which ar¢ sU￿1Clent to show and explain all the charity's transactions, and which are such
as to disclose al anytim¢. with reasonable accuracy, the financial position of tlie charity at thal time.
The accounting records shall in particular contain-
a) entries showing from day to day all sums of monies received and expended by the charity, and the
matters in respect of which the receipt and expenditure takes place, and,
b) a record of the assets and liabilities of the charity.

Statement of compliance
In setting our objectives at]d planning our activities for the year the trustees have given careful
consideralion to the Charity Commission for Northern Irelaiid's Guidance on Public Benefit to ensure that
the activities have helped to achieve the charity's purpose and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.

We report on the ac¢ounts of the Association for the year ended 31 M&r¢h 2017, which are set out on pages

Respective responsibilities of charity trustees and examiner
As the charity's Iruslees you are responsible for the preparation of the a¢counts in accordance with the
Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
It is our responsibility to-
Exaniine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act.
Follow the procedur¢s laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission under section
65(9) (bl of the Charities Act.
State whether particular tnatt¢rs havc come to our ittention.
Basis ol independent examiner's report
We have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and our
examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission
for Northern Ireland under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act.
Our examination included a review of the accouiiting records kcpl by the ¢harity and a comparison of the
accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusiial items or disclosures in
th¢ accounts. and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees ¢on¢¢rning any su¢h matters.
Our role is to slate whether any material tnatters have come to my attention giving us cause to believe..
l. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with s¢¢tion 63 of the Charities Act.
