The Trustees present the annual report and statement of receipts and payments. and assets and liabilities for
the year ended 31 De￿rnber 2022.

The advancernent of Health or savlng of Ilves by provldlng fundlng to fadlltate Medlcal Research In Ireland and
by providing Teddles for chlldren In severe distress attending hospital emergency departments and who, In the
oplnlon of medical staff would benefit from the provtslon of a teddy In order to allevlate thelr dlstress.
Actlvltle&'
Oungannon Dlstrlrt Masonic Charity Commlttee oversees and ctrordlnate5 the raising of funds for several
charltable purposes by fourteen Masonlc Lodges which are all represented on the Commlttee. Funds are ralsed
by the Indlvldual lodges by voluntary 8lvin& donètlons and fvnd ralslng. These funds are then channelled
through the committee, where If posslble. Glft Aid 15 claimed and added to the amounts received and then
forwarded to our admlnlstrators for allocation. In addition we co-operate wlth other Charity Committees who
operate withln the Masonic Province of Tyrone and Fermanagh. Members of the Committee are kept Informed
of the needs of the varlous charltable purposes we support and are encouraged In the ralslng of fund

By contributlng £9439.(Kl to Masonic Local Benevolent Fund whlth provldes temporary and
emergency rellef to distressed Freemasons and their families
By contributlng £930.00 to Masonic Charity . Teddies for Loving Care- we were able to asslst with the
provision of Teddy bears to Emergency departments in Enniskillen and Omagh Hospitals.
By contributing £5(M).00 to the Harold Mc Master Memorial Fund whith exists to provide bursaries to
rnature students wishing to further thelr education.
By contributing £21XI.00 to the Grand Masterfs Ukraine Appeal.
The committee at all times have had regard for the Public Benefft Guidance as issued by the Charity
Commission{Nll in all decisions where the guldance was relevanL
The Cornmittee again made the decision to d￿ate a large portion of their income in 2022 to the Masonic
Benevolent Fund because of the demands placed upon the fund as a direct result of the pandemic

Financial position ha5 been maintained in accordance with guidelines as set out In our constitution.
The work of Dungannon Masonlc Dlstrict Chartty Committee is only possible wlth the support of the various
Masonic bodies within the Masonic Province of Tyrone and Fernianagh who Continue to SUPPOrt U5 year after
year and to whorn we are indebted.
Public Benefft
Purpose One: The dlrect benefits which flow from this purpose Sndude an Improved standard of living and
8featly reduced levels of stress and anxlety not only for the redplent but also for the recipienvs dependents.
These benefrts are demonstrated through feedback from the recipients and those dlrertly Involved Sn
admlnlsterlng the funds. Th15 purpose doe5 not lead to harn). The benefioarles of thls purpose are
Freemasons, their wives, chlldren and families and the famille5 and widow5 of deceased Freemasons whether
sltuated in Ireland or Overseas. There Is no private benefft from thls PUTPOSe.
Purpose Two.. The dlrect beneffts whlch flow from thls purpose indude: improved heafth and well-being
outcomes, reduced levels of poverty. stre55 and anxiety and building confidence whith will help clrcumstances
and opportunltles. These beneffts are demonstrated through feedback from benefidaries through Lodge
almoners. and evaluation of our actlvltles. There is no harm antldpated from thls purpose. The charltys
beneflciarles are primarily. but not exdusNely the wldows and families of deceased Freemasons and dlstre55ed
Freemasons and their families living wlthln or beyond the area falling under the Jurlsdlrtlon of the Grand Lodge of
Ireland using the rules and reÉtslations of the governing bodles of the Victoria Jubilee Masonlc Benevolent Fund,
The Masonlc Welfare Fund and the Tyrone and Fermanagh Provlnaal Local Ber￿lent Fund. There Is no private
beneflt from thts purpose.
Purpose Three: The dlrect beneffts whlch flow from thls purpose Indude (l) a better understandlng of medlcal
condltlons and dlseases and Improved treatments. These beneffts are demonstrated throu8h new and Improved
treatments and procedures belng used by our medical professional& In Implementing any new procedure or
treatment there wlll alway5 be a potentlal for harm through unlntended slde effects however the potential
beneffts wlll outwelgh the risk of harm. The beneficiaries are persons carrying out Medical Research in Ireland.
There no private benefrt from thls purpose. (2) Alleviating the dlstress belng suffered by a thild who through
Illness or Injury has been brought to a hospital emergency department. When the chlld ts less dlstres5ed the
parent or guardlan benefits. the staff in turn benefft by belng able to treat the chlld more easily ar#d more quickly
whlch then means that other patlents benefit by not having to wait as long as they might have. These benefits are
demonstrated through feedback from parents, guardlans. hospital staff and other patlents. Thls purpose does not
lead to harni. The beneflclarles of this purpose are children attending hospital emergency departments In Sreland
In a dlstressed state and who in the opinion of staff would benefit from being given a teddy. There Is no private
benefit from thts purpose.
Compliance wlth PublK Benefft
The Charlty has considered the Charity Commlssion for Northern Ireland's guidan￿ on Public Benefit to ensure
that the artivities entered into during the year have helped to athieve the Charivs objective5 and activitles , as
well as providing public benefrt.
Flnanclal Revlew
It Is our policy to distribute all monie5 before the end of the Finantial Year13VI¥2022) and only maintain a
minimal balance in the account at year end. There were no debts or outstandtng debts or liabilities , nor were
there any funds held by the charity as a custodian trustee
