Friends of Down Hlgh IFODHI has continued to organise social and fundraising events for the
famllies, chlldren and former members of the school community. Thls group has malntalned the Ilnk
to the School wlth a large number of former pupils known as "old Dunumlans" a5 well as en5urlng
that the sportlng endeavours of the school are also well resourced.
Durlng the course of the 2021-2022 year, and in the COTltext of re.emerginE from the global
pandemlc, the Frlends of Down High made vltal contrlbutlons to promote and increase Indwldual
and collective knowledge. The Frlends of Down Hlgh have continued to support the school to
enhance learning and teachln& and the extra-curricular prog¥3mme. The school replaced hockey
goal postg and upgraded Its fltness su￿e. Also, provision of more technlcal analysis equiprnent was
8cquired. The Old Dunumians were dellghted to pay for a newtrophy cabinet to display the school's
many awards, and memorabilia. The school Is movlng to 3 new build on a new site and the maln
focus of fundraising wlll be focussed on providlng state of the art facllSties, upgradlnx some finlshes,
and also ensurlng that the Hlstory and ethos (rf our school al'e encapsulated, recorded and exhlblted.
In 2021-22, FODH contrlbuted to essentlal pastoral interventions such as addltlonal counselling. We
also provided money to allow leadership training to take place, and also for vlsiting companies and
speakers to attend. The FODH has also made slgnificant contrlbutions to the Careers department and
ha5 Contributed towards the c05t of Unifrog- an online resource that helps pupi15 to identlfy
pathways through GCSE, A Level and on to universitv.
The Friends ol Down High ig a fundraising organlsation, bul an lrnportant part of our role is
promotlnE social indusion, developlng communlty relations and providing a less formal channel of
communlcation between the past pupils and staff, our parent body and the school. Many of the
Friends of Down Hlgh help the school in many way5, includlng being Involved In the Careers rno¢k
Interview PTocess.
At the end of the financlal year, the Frl¢nds of Down High wa5 In surplu5 by £96,958.97. A
breakdown of thls Is made in the Receipts and Payrnenls Account figure5. There are no fund5 held by
FrSends of Down High that are materlally in defidt at the end of the year.

No other people served as trustees during the year. However, Lorralne Halligan gave notlce In
September 2022 that she Intended to stand down, and it was agrÈed that ludlth Glbson WQLsld
replace her. Also, Lou15e Healy gave notice that she would Stand down, and a replacement would be
needed for her also.
