Objectives and activities
Club Dcrry helps to promotc thc dcvclopmcnt and involvement of people, particularly young
people in all Gaclic sports in County D¢rry. There is not only a public licalih bcncfit for those
who are cnabled to participate but th¢r¢ is also th¢ benefit lo rhosc who are able to take enjoyment
froin speclaling at Gaelic sport5 events within the county and seeing teallw from the couiity
participaling in sports events further afield. Club Derry also seeks io preseTve th¢ ¢ultural
heriiage. I£￿al history and traditio￿% of County Derry.
Aehievements and performance
Financial Y￿r 2016117 was one of ¢oThsolidation for Club Derry having made substantial
contribuiions to D(¥ry GAA D¢v¢lopmcnl squads in the previous year.
A new administration had been elected at the Derry Counry Convention in Deceinber 2015 and
we worked Llosely with the ncw t¢dm to unde¥sland thL' dircc'tion to be taken and to bnsurL that
that direciion was consistent with thc ain￿ of the ¥harity.
Expenditure was, as always. very lightly COn￿OI1¢d during Ehe year and some small dollations
were inade consistent with our poliLy on youth developinent in th¢ sport5 and culture of the
Gaeli¢ Athldi¢ Asswiarion in Derry.
While there was limit¢d growth in membership. our well-d&4wved core membLTS and donoi
continued iu support the ¢harity. This suppor( coupled with prudent financial managern￿lt leaves
the charity in a strong financial position at the yfdr en(L
