I, Saintfield Rainbow5-Trustees Annual Report
Year End-june 2017
2016117 has been a busy year as ever for Saintfield Rainbows, the unit has 25 girls aged 4-7
attending regularly, we usually have 22123 girls per week. We also have a waiting list of 10.13
enquiries at a time.
We meet on a Monday evening during term time from 6.30-7.30, the Rainbow5 are led by Natasha
Wade leader in charge wlth the help of Caroline Norton and Laura McGreevy and they also use a
rota to involve 2 mums helping each week.
The 3 leaders meet before each term to organi5e a programme for the lerm ahead and take turns in
leading the weeks activities. The activitie5 are well varied and include arts and craft, baking, reading
stories and playing games.
We aim to give the girls new experiences and opportunities to meet new people and make new
friends, some of the girls are very shy when they first come in but we work with them and involve
them until they feel comfortable in the environment.
At the start of each year the girls work towards enrolling as a Rainbow Guide, we teach them the
promise and how to use it in everyday life, they give examples of how the can be kind, friendly and
helpful in school, at home and to friends, family and neighbours.
We have parties at Halloween, Christmas and at the end of the year which the girls really look
forward too.
th
In February the girls were involved in the Rainbow Guides 30 birthday celebrations in Newcastle
and in June the older Rainbows who were transferring into the Brownies had a night out with the
Brownies to Tyrella beach for an RNLI talk and some surfin8.
It is my belief that the trustees of Saintfield Rainbows, 'in setting their objectives and planning their
activities for the year have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern
Ireland's guidance on public benefit, to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the
¢harity'5 purpose and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries, All trustees are aware of this obligation
and feel that the summary of events stated in this document more than adequately show their
compliance.
I, Saintfield Rainbows is a small organlsation Showing an end of year balance of £316.17 cash in
hand. We had a net spend of£1330.95.
I" Sainth'eld Rainbows does not incur any debt.
