ANNUAL REPORT 2022 -2023

MESSAGE FROM CHAIR

Factory Community Forum have been responsible for the completion of several programmes/initiatives throughout the year, inclusive of older person’s programmes, youth programmes, summer school and employability as well as ongoing training for committee and volunteers.

This year the Factory Community Forum are into their fourteenth year and are expanding. Moving into new premises within the community have proved extremely successful with more people coming through the doors. With Alternatives and Extern under the roof of the community hub also this has been advantageous to all the community and surrounding areas. Programmes have been focused on The Women’s group coming together after lock down and also Restorative

Justice and Street Outreach which have proven to be extremely successful. Employability programmes have also been a huge success with many people gaining access to employment.

The Open space at Greenland Drive area is in the process of undergoing redevelopment which will have a huge impact on community pride and social engagement and will provide space for all ages to enjoy inclusive of a brand new park with disability access. A community garden will be completed before the end of the year providing a quiet place for all to enjoy. This is just the first few stages and we will continue to work until the area has been completed.

The youth engagement programme has opened a second night in the week for children, encouraging them to come along meet new friends and join in different activities.

Factory Community Forum’s volunteers worked tirelessly throughout and no job was too much. Volunteers for Youth Engagement programme have doubled in previous months. We continue to engage with a range of outside agencies inclusive of voluntary, statutory and other community associations throughout the year to ensure development of good relations moving forward.

I would like to thank all involved for their continued support especially the committee who work tirelessly to uphold the good work and progress within Factory Community Forum.
