## **Trustee Annual Report Form – Template** 

This template is to provide guidance to units who are completing a Trustee Annual Report for the NI Charity Commission.  If you do not wish to use this form please ensure that the headings in this guidance are followed when completing a Trustee Annual Report. 

## **All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.** 

**The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.**

**A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year** 

Our Rainbow Group numbers have been fluctuating throughout the year, we began 2018 with 13 girls, 7 left in May to transfer to Brownies.  When we began in September we started with 4 girls.  Eventually the numbers rose to 12.  A local Scout Group meets at the same time as Rainbows and as girls can attend Scouts, this means that brothers and sister can attend together which has impacted greatly on the Rainbows.  However, that said, we have had a good year, the girls have been happy busy doing crafts, learning about Guiding and their cultures in other parts of the world, the environment and Health and Wellbeing for ourselves, Earning many badges on the way.  In September a new Guiding Programme was launched and we are in the process of transferring to the new badges etc., which the new programme brings.  During our year we have had Promise Parties, a visit to the Theatre to see Peter Pan and even managed to get outside for some activities.  I owe my grateful thanks to the team of leaders who support me week in and week out. During the year we did not have any incidents or harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit.

In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity’s purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiari _es._ 



**A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year** 

The Income for the year ended December 2018 was £1071.87 and the total expenditure for the year was £847.79 leaving a balance of £224.08      to carry over to the following year. The account stayed in the black and we did not have any debt. 

**Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit** 

There were no funds held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year.
