Tyrone County Scouts Report – March 2016 - April 2017
Tyrone County Scouts operate within the County to provide support to various registered Scouting Groups within the County. For the current year we have Scout Groups in the following areas:

Aughnacloy

Ballygawley

Baronscourt

Cokebrooke/Cooneen

Killyman

Omagh
-
Pomeroy
-
Sion Mills
-
Killen
-
Gortin
-
Dungannon
-
Strabane
-
Sixmilecross
All groups operate independently and submit returns to the Charity Commission separately. At the time of census within the organisation we had 556 young people registered and 194 over the age of 18. These figures showed an increase from the previous year.
During the year a variety of County events were run by our volunteers for the groups including the following activities:

Beaver activities including visit to Armagh Planetarium, Beaver Rally in Crawfordsburn and walks

Large camp for all Cubs within the County - 3 day event with various activities. In addition there was also football competition, hikes and table quiz

Scouts took part in a table quiz, hiking competitions, climbing competition, archery competition and raft building event.

Explorers were ran independently and have various trips, hike, expeditions with various groups also competing and being awarded Duke of Edinburgh Awards at various levels.

Leaders continued with various training course including Woodbadge Training, First Aid, Safe Guarding and Leadership/Management courses.
