A summary of the Charity ’ s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
28 girls took part in the unit over the year, some leaving at age seven mid-year to go on to Brownies, and four leaving in June 2025. At any one time we did not exceed 22 girls. We had four adult leaders, one young leader for one term, and one young leader for the whole session.
Badges achieved: Interest badges attained were Book Lover, Helper, Healthy Mind, Nature and ‘ Ulster Goes Wild ’ (based on wild animals). We worked on Skills Builders, including Explore Stage 1, exploring our area and learning about the planets, explorers and other countries. Several girls gained related Theme Awards, having worked on them over either one year or two: Take Action, Skills for my Future, Be Well, and Have Adventures. We completed Unit Meeting Activities related to the themes, exceeding in each theme the number of prescribed hours. Ten girls made their Promise. Four girls gained the Bronze Award after completing two Theme Awards. One girl gained the Silver Award for completing four Theme Awards. Two girls gained the Gold Award, the highest achievement, for completing all six Theme Awards.
Interspersed with badge work were crafts and seasonal crafts, songs and games, intended to help with team building, sharing, and creativity, and we were able to be outdoors, due to dry weather, during the summer term for games. Leaders were impressed to see girls gain confidence over the year, and many parents told us how much the girls looked forward to coming to Rainbows. Some girls attended the annual Remembrance Day service at church, and the Youth service.
Visit to the unit: For the Christmas celebration, Rebekah from Clayful Minds once again visited, and the girls created figures from clay with her help. This was much enjoyed.
All leader training is up-to-date. One leader completed the online learning for the new Safe Space training, which is being phased in, and Zoom training for Risk Assessment. Two leaders renewed First Response training. Leaders also attended, a fire training organised by our church where we meet. Risk Assessment is regularly updated and circulated to leaders.

A review of the Charity ’ s financial position at the end of the year
Previous year ’ s income (2023-24 ): £ 3,350.43 . Expenditure: £ 3,021.30. Balance at end of session: £ 2,242.55.
Current year ’ s income: (2024-25): £ 2,596.75 . Expenditure: £ 2,842.71. Balance at end of session: £1996.59
All expenses were met for 2024-25. Reason for differences from previous year: income decreased due mainly to a decrease in the grant from the Education Authority. Expenditure also decreased, partly because we did not spend money on an outing this session.
Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit
