A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
Rainbows currently have 29 girls attending Rainbows with an average of 25 each week.
Following the unrest over the summer we were unable to hold our annual sleepover. Instead the eight girls who are moving on to Brownies enjoyed an evening of adventure golf and Burger King. We have a number of new Rainbows joining us at the start of November but are still operating a waiting list.
We have had a wide range of activities this term. We continue to work through themes from the Girlguiding programme. This year the girls achieved their Know Myself and Be Well Theme Awards. Engagement was high as girls were involved with the activities and were excited to achieve their badges.
A trip to the Ark Farm proved very popular. This year fundraising was carried out for the Dog’s Trust. The girls enjoyed learning a dance to the song ‘Chihuahua’ as their fundraising event. Further support came from coffee mornings.
There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and that there was no private benefit.

A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year :
It is evident that there is some deficit this year. This year we made decision not to increase
subscription costs due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. As a result we had to use some of the finances we had on account to support the unit this year. We also made the error of purchasing for the 2025/2026 year during August ’25 planning rather than waiting for the next financial year. We do have financial security moving forward.
2023/24: Receipts: £4,051.29 / Payments: £3, 793.95
2024/25: Receipts: £4,177.32 / Payments: £4,743.31
Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit
Moving forward we have made the decision to increase unit funds to reduce the deficit we have experienced this year. We will also ensure we keep purchasing within financial years. We continue to be in a strong financial position due to prudent saving prior to the pandemic.
