March 2017 September 2022- August 2023 A summary of the Charity's maln actlvltles to further Its purposes for the publlc beneflt and the main achievements in the year Number of Girlsthattook park in the unit.. 16 Crafts and Games Games, craft, singing and story time continue to feature in our programme this year. Some of the girls, favourite activities include playing Hide the Rainbow, dodge balli parachute games, the jelly bean game and skills builders that involve balance, eye and hand co-ordination and movement. On a Game5 Night, we work in teams completing different relay events which help to develop a variety of physical and social skills including working as a team, following instructions, and learning to cope when you win and lose. We also organise traditional board games and puzzles nights which are always popular and enable the girls to work in smaller groups and choose which activity they want to take part in, Some examples of craft activities include making Halloween spider buns, fruit kebabs, Christmas reindeer ornaments and planting flowers inside specially decorated containers. We also talked about the coronation of King Charles and celebrated this historic event by making individual crowns. We also organised a Halloween fancy dress party, Christmas outing to the local cinema, and end of year drum circle event with the amazing Gathering Drum which Saw each of the girls playing their own drum, singing and participating as instructed by the facilitator. Bad e Work GirlGuidinE'S programme for all sections uses the same six themes which ensures consistency as the girls progress from Rainbow up to Ranger. The themes include Know Myself, Express Myself, Be Well, Have Adventures, Take Action and Skills for My Future. We focused on the Take Action, Stage l Helper badge to encourage the girls to explore how they can make a difference. The girls were challenged to think about how they can help at home, in their community and in the widerworld.

wE￿(0¥Ere. WE Girlguiding Ulster Some of the ways the girls made a difference in the home include., They helped at home by tidying their room and toys. Others told us they helped to look after the family dog by feeding and giving lots of hugs I We also learned that some of the girls helped siblings by bringing them things they needed. Some of the girls also helped by brushing the floor, clearing the table and gathering leaves outside, Some of the ways the girls made a difference in the community included the following., Donated toys and books to charity. Spent time talking with older people. Using pocket money to buy things to make up a box of treats to donate to kids that wouldn't receive a present for Christmas. Ilt took 6 weeks to fill the box) Looking after a new friend in school who is scared and nervous by holding his hand and playing with him. Donating to the food bank in school Helping a classmate with his maths. Some of the ways the girls made a difference to the planet and wider world included the following.. Putting recyclable materials into the recycle box. Turning off the tap when brushing their teeth. Collecting rubbish from local beaches and parks. Planting seeds, f lowers and plants. Watering a plant. Turning the lights off if no one 15 in the room. Composting food waste. Donated warm clothes to a local charity Thi5 challenge enabled the girls to help others and make things better. They were able to widen their perspective, try new things and feel good knowing they were helping to make a positive difference when they did things to help their family, people in the community and the planet. Outin During December 2022 our unit went to the cinema to see Disney's animation adventure, Strange World. All of the girls enjoyed the film. We also organised a sponsored Park to Park walk on 14 May 2023,

WE MCOVER. WE GROW Glrlguidlng Outstanding events for your Unit over the last 12 months: 27 Feb 2023 - We organised a Pudsey night pyjama party in aid of Children in Need. The girls brought a donation, teddy and blanket, and we provided hot chocolate and toast. We read stories and talked about how some children do not have what they need and the charity helps them. We made a donation in the amount of £50 to Children in Need. 14 May 2023- We held our annual Park to Park sponsored walk. Successe5: We have a fun and varied programme including craft, games and outings. The girls enjoy coming to Rainbows each week. ITheir parents tell us and we can see it on theirface511 We have organised 2 successful outing5 that provided the girls with opportunities to expand their awareness, make a difference and have fun. The Take Action, Helper Badge enabled the girls to begin learning about how they can help people in theirfamily, the community and even the planetl We honoured Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth11 during a unit meeting recognising her significant role in Glrlguiding's story. Interest in/Support for the unit remains high. There wa5 no harm flowing from the charity's purposes and there was no private benefit.

WE fkYOW Girlguiding A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission's Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance All Trustees are aware that Charity Trustees are legally obliged to have regard to this Euidance. We have reviewed section 4 of the Trustees, Annual Report and Public Benefit reporting document which can be downloaded from the Girlguiding Ulster website. A review of the Charity's f inancial posltlon at the end of the year The overall financial position is good. There was no outstanding debts. The Unit started with a balance of £746.12. Income throughout the year totalled £3771.78 and expenditure came to £2038.36 thus leaving a positive balance of £2479,54 at the end of the year. Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deflclt at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to ellminate the deficit The account was not in deficit at any time during the year.
