Trustee Annual Report
All Girlguiding Ulster Charltles are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.
The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop
emotionallyl mentally, physlcally and 5pirltually so that they can make a posltlve contributlon to
their Communlty and the wlder world,

Exploring different types of food and understanding balanced diets. We learned about
the different food groups and then worked as a group to decide which food group
different foods would belonE.
Being active, discovering why exercise is good and explorinE different muscles. The girls
chose their three favouritÈ games and after each game we talked about what muscles in
our body were being used.
Discovering what makes others happy. We sat In a circle and one person secretly made a
funny face and shared it with the person beside them and so on. It wa5 fun to see the
final funny face. Thi5 got everyone laughing. We also talked about what made the girls
laugh. These included Mum. Dad, brother, friends, pulling funny faces, brotherfs giggles
and peanut butterl
Discovering why we need to sleep. We worked in four small groups. Each group made up
actions to a song teaching the importance of sleeping. It was fun to See their creativity
and team work.
Outin
During December 2018 our unit went to the pantomime in the Courtyard Theatre at Ballyearl to
see Peter Pan. All of the girls enjoyed the performance.
During May 2019- We held aur fourth annual Park to Park Sponsored Walk which was well
attended. The girls enjoyed the walk and time they had to play at the Lough Shore play park.
Funds raised were split between our Ralnbow Unit and Crohn's and Colltis UK In memory of Peri
Gillespie who was a Leader in our Rainbow L¢nit that passed away unexpectedly during August
2018.
Also during May 2019, we organised an end of year party at Play Zone which is a facility that
allows children to cllmb, slide and play in a safe environment.

A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission's Public Beneflt re4uirement
statutory guidance
All Trustees are aware that Charity Trustee5 are legally obliged to have regard to this guidance.
We have reviewed sertion 4 of the Tru5tees' Annual Report and Public Benefit reporting
document which can be downloaded from the Girlguiding Ulster website.
A revlew of the Charlty's financlal posltlon at the end of the year
The overall financial position is good. There was no outstandlng debts.
The Unit started with a balance of £830.30. Income throughout the year totalled £1766.15 and
expenditure came to £1551.11 thus leaving a posltive balance of £1045.34 at the end of the year.
Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materlally in deficlt at the end of the year and
steps taken by the Charlty Trustees to eliminate the deficlt
The account was not in deficit at any time during the year.
