Tractor Run Action Points
The Tractor Run is being held on Friday 13thSeptember, this is mainly being

The biggest need for this event is marshals, the teachers are normally very
good at helping with this but we need about 20 marshals in total.
Demi Scott and Jennifer Walker requested posters to help with the
advertising of the Tractor Run
Leann Law proposed the idea of having a scarecrow competition which the
kids could pay to enter, the scarecrow should be no bigger than a wooden
spoon and can be based on a wooden spoon if the kids wish.
It was agreed that Classic Cars should be included in the Tractor Run again
this year.
It was also agreed to run a raffle again
Sharon Leeburn suggested approaching The Grassmen to see if they would
be interested in attending the Tractor Run and see if they would be willing
to pay us a % of the money they make.
A Dog agility event at the tractor run was discussed again and it was agreed
that it would be a good idea to try and incorporate this.
It was also decided to explore the possibility of having trophies for different
categories within the Tractor Run
A request needs to be put out for

Event Suggestions for nextyear
Ninja Warrior course
Jonny has proposed running an event using a 160ft inflatable Ninja
Warrior course which teams of adults and children can enter, we
could have timed runs through the course. Also possibly have a BBQ
at this event. Exact details are yet to be worked out.
Belfast Giants Night
Joan Shields suggested running another social night to the Belfast
Giants, it was agreed to discuss this further after the Tractor run but
that this might be a good event for the end of January / February
time.
Pub Quiz
It was felt that the Pub Quiz this year was a success and that we
should hold another one around the same time (March) next year.
Internet Safety Talk
It was agreed that this is an important area to continually cover with
parents, it was discussed that Eric who delivered the Internet Safety
Talk to the P7s and parents this year was very good and perhaps he
could come back ad expand his talk for parents of all age groups.
Air Ambulance Fund Raiser
There was supposed to be a whole school fund raiser in aid of the
Air Ambulance thisyear but it didn’tget fitted in,Mr Good said he
Jonny Pickeringto find out exact costs
involved in hiring the Ninja Course
Mrs Shieldsto talk to Mr McQuitty
about getting Eric to do another talk.

would be in favour of having a sponsored event within in school next year for this. Accelerated Reading Programme Catherine McKee asked if school had ever considered introducing the accelerated reading programme. Heather Black informed the meeting that herself and another member of staff had just recently attended a meeting about this. There are set up costs involved with this scheme of £1600 which gives 45 kids access to the scheme then it is £4.45 per child after this then ongoing yearly licence fees. There are currently 3500 books which are part of the scheme. School will be looking further into the feasibility of this scheme.

Next Meeting Thursday 22[nd] August 2pm
