In setting objectsves and planning for actrvities, the Trustees have gNen due consttderalion to general guidance
published by the Charty Commiss￿￿ Telaling lo public benefit, and Ico its supplementary public benefit guidance
on the advancement of Ihe Christian feligion.

To continue to meet as a c*)mmunity in person or online on Sunday mornings.
To meet as a Kirk Session, Congregatwal Committee and varhjus sub-groups to plan fof the future and 10 call a
new Minister.

The charty fuwils tts objectNes by prowding benefil to 115 members and Ihe public by making known the Christian
Gospel of the Lord Jesus Chrisl thrwgh Ihe adwdncemenl of religion.
This year we have had to adapl our programmes and ways of working considerably due lo Ihe impact ol Covid-
19.

The direcl public benefrts which flow from the purFK)se$ and acirwtres of the Church Indude the galning of an
understanding in Christian beliefs as set oul in the Bible and in the Church's subofdinate standards (the
Westminster Conle5sion of Faith and the Shorter and Laiger Calechismsl leadino to spiritual and moral growth
and development. In turn, this framewoik leads 10 praclical expressions of Chrislian beliefs and standards in the
cal community through pastoral care (including the poor. sick, disabled, and bereaved). The above benefits are
delivered by the church ministers, staff, olficers of ihe church and members through public services and a range
ol programmes and weekty actNities. Public aC￿&S is made known through Ihe use of notice boards, Pfinled
material. websites, social media. and online services.

Achlevements and perfomiance
a. Maln achlevements of the Charlty
Our main achievement was to continue growing our churth ojmmunty in spile of the restrictions caused by the
pandemic.
During the year we continued our decision-making pr￿esS and called a new Minster Flev Andrew Galbraith who
was installed on 1 Oth of September 2021. We are very appreciatNe for the guidance of the Rev David Gray our
Convener through the whole process.
Despite losing our youth and childRn'$ worker in January to a new job. an enthusiastic team led by Rev David
Gray conbnued the work and we had a very su￿Ssful Chihjren's Easter Mission and Summer Club in
association with the *udents from Derwolgie HalL8.
Our 'Engage Team, continued the work of looking for ways to reach oul into the Community and strengthened
the links wrih the Bema￿ f(MxJ bank. The ieam organised the planning and delwery of Christmas Cards to the
I￿al community and we had good POSitNe feedback from Slmne of the recipients.
Our Communication Aclion Team started to Use our new Low whlch they had been working on prlor to Ihe
pandemic.

b. Revlew of activities
Our actmties were signrficantly adapted due lo the mitigatKsns in place due to the pandemic. However, the
church communty showed great ueatNty arsd versatilty in working within the restrictions.
Fisherwck's Vision statement is. 'The whole gospel. for the whole person, wlhin the whole church in the whole
world,. It is based on the core ￿lief that as disciples of the risen Lord Jesus, the good news of Jesus should
impact our relationship with each other, Ihe ￿￿ljer church lamily, and the wider world.
The Whole Gospel
Through our Sunday services, small grou￿, and prayer meetings our Ministers and vistting speakers have
conlinued to tell us about Ihe love of G(xl and help us grow into malure disciples.
Our special Christmas and Easler services were attended in person or viewed by many online. Many of our
elders helped lead and preach during the year an(J we have been encouraged and refreshed by their ministry.
Neale, the choir and the praise bands enriched our vnrship through(Krt Ihe year, but especially al Christmas and
Easlef.
The Whole Person
Our ministers, paslofal staff and eklers provKled pastoral care on an ongoing basis in the local area, nufsing
homes and local hospitals. Al limes this has been by lelephone or through socially dIStan￿d dcx)rstep visits.
Conducting funerals and weddings with limiled numbers and reslrictions has been challenging but they have
consistenlly found a way lo ofler compassion an(J (xre to many al the most important limes in their INes.
Much care and love has also been expressed through 'Small Groups. and prayer meetings cor¢linuing lo meet
logether and Ihe u)ngregalion has iw) enc(xJraged io (xM)ta¢t IIM)se they miss mething on a Sunday ffloming.
The Whole Church
The pandemic has caused considerable hardship on the most vulnerable in our society a￿1 as a church we have
supported the Internalional Meeting Poinl and the S(xJlh Bellast F{￿ bank by facililaling ox)Ilections of much
needed ilems and gNing financially.
We have worked in partnership with aueen's Chaplaincy and Frierids lntemab.onal in reaching out to both local
and international sludenls who have found Ihis lime espeualty diffbcum.
We have supported Christians olher countries persecuted for their farth Ihrough regular prayer and by financial
donations.
The Whole World
We have conlinu&J to SUPFQrt Armond and Anace who are *vrking in Peru, esp8ck8lty as Peru has been badly
hit by the pandemic. We have supported the work Ihere in prayer and financially and with our online setvices we
were able to see them and have them lead prayers and gNe regular UFKlales. We also continue lo suppx)rt our
friend Wilfred A￿a who started Ihe 'lntegrated Health for all Foundats'on. which helps the wor in the Cameroon.
Prior to the Pandemic we as a church had been Invo￿ in a prC￿eSS lo assess the needs of our IC￿al
¢ommunty and how we migm match our skills and resources lo the needs we found. Although much of this work
has been on hold. our intention to wrsue this has not and we intend to build on what W8 have stsrted.
Amhough this has been a challenging year for everyone. we have been aware of many blessings.
Rev Dave Gray led us with great energy and creativty until Rev Andy Galbraith was installed in September. The
Rev Andy Galbraith has made a gieat start and Ic￿k forward to how the Lord will use him as he continues his
ministry in Fisheti¥ick. Rev Ken NeL￿n. our part-tine Pastoral Assistant assisted by Sheena Mcllwralh and our
ekiers have provided excellent pastoral care and supF(srt lo many going through diffiofrtt times often helped by
oui Minister Emeritus Rev Oerek McKefvey. Our strong staff team staff have continued lo seNe us unstintingly
and have shown adaptability and good grace th￿gh the constantly changing ciratmstances. In January our

Youth and Children's worker Danny Moore moved to a new pwtion with 'Stand by Me., and Michelle Manwaring
who had been covering rnaternty leave and working as our Adminislralor left us in September. We are
thankful for everything they dKI for us and wi8h them every blessing in the future.
We are also very thankful foi the many church Offi￿r$ and volunleers Iloo many to namel who help keep the
communty of Fisherwick working well. We c>)ukJ not do everylhing we do without the willingness ol so many who
volunteef their gifts and time so willingty.

The charity is principally fttnded through voluntary donatb)ns. Wuests and gtfts from the congregation and
fundraiqing activities.
Flnan¢lal revlew
a. Golng concern
After making appropriate enquiries, the Tiuslees have a reasonable expectation that the Charity has adequate
resources lo continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason. they continue to adopt
the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further detaits regarding the adoption of the going
concern basis eAn be found in the ac(￿JnIlng Folicies.
b. ReseNe9 poII¢y
The reserves ￿)lICY of the charty is to devehjp and maintsin unrestricted reserves not designated for a particular
purpose al a level equivalent to 6 months incoming resour￿ without prejudicing the ongoing activities ol the
organisation.
Totsl resetves held by the charity at the end of the year are £3.412.47712020 .' £3.409.8281 of which £2.835.782
12020 '. E2.871.486 are restricted for a speCff￿ wrpose. £536,035 12020 '. £501.2971 ale in unrestricted funds
and £40.660 12020 .. £37,045) ale endowment funds. £2.268.975 of all reseNes al 31 st December 2021 are
tangible frxed assets hekl for the ongjing delivery of the Church's charitable actmties.
The reseNes are needed to meet the operational costs of the Church on an ongoing basis. The primary indicator
ol the level of reserves afe the expenses of the general fund. During the year general fund expenses were
£213.040. further addrtional expenses of £54.525 were incurred in relation lo other unrestricted funds and funds
designated for a specrfic wrpose.
al 31st December 2021. the Charty hehj unen￿mt￿red unrestricted reseNes which had not been
designated lor a spe¢rfie purpose of £104.682. This amount represents approximately 6 months running costs
and the Trustees are satisfied that at thi8 level they w￿uld be able to (x)ntinue the Current actrvities of the Charity
in the event of a si9nrficanl drop in funding. It noted that running costs in 2021 were lower than rsormal due to
the absence of a Mini4teVs salary for the lull year and due to CovKI-19.

¢. Prin¢ipal fundlng and flnanclal perfonnance
The chafity is principally funded through voluntary donations, bequests and gifts from its corigregalion and
fundraising aclivilies.
Income from donations and legaeres from contributing families and grants totalled £300,1021£317,777 in 20201.
11 is noted that incoming resources in preVI￿S years have been higher than usual due to the congregation's
support for conlritwling towards the Communty Outreach Building Project ICOPI noted above. In 2021 we were
again in receipt of support from the Govemmenys Job Retenb"on Scheme
Total expenditure increased from £432.250 in 2020 to £472,063 primarity due lo a charge lor depreciating the
COP Project building, our new Ministe￿5 salary and the increased costs of njnning the Church building as Covid-
19 restrictions eased. Expenditure on COP is being capltalised into a separate category of leasehold
improvements on the balance sheet of the Church and depreuated aco)rdingly. Expenditure on this project will
conlinue through 2022.
The church recorded an overall surplus for the year of £2.649.
The General Fund of the church endgj the year wilh an excess of income over expendlture and transfers of
£21,727 and a elosing surplus ol E55.757.
The main charrtable objective ol the church ts the advancement of the Christian religion and it is considered that
all direct charrtable costs and supp)rt costs are incufred in furtherance of this purpose. Direct charrtable
expendrture remained consistent from £186.413 in 2020 and £187.392 in 2021, and support C051s increased
from £245,837 in 2020 to £284.671 during the year. As noted. a depreciation charge 01 £186,731 relating lo the
COP project and increased running o)sts explains this rise in support costs. The COP project deprecialion
charge should be anticipated at similar leveL8 in future years as COP additions are depiecialed. The COP project
is considered by the Trustees to be solety for the purwse of enhancing the delivery of Ihe church's charitable
obje¢tNes.
Structure, govemance and management
a. Constitution
Fisherwick Congregation of The Presbylerian Church in Ireland is a regislered charity, number NIC104366, and
is constituted under a Trust deed.
b. Methods of appolntment or electlon of Truslees
The management of the chanty is the reswnsibilty of the Trustees who are appointed under the rules and
guidance outlined in 'The Code,, Wh￿ is the Constitution and Govemment of the Presby1erian Church in Ireland,
published by the authow of the General A%sembly in 1980. reprinted with amendments 1992. reprinted wilh
amendments 1997, reprinled wrth amendments June 2019 and 2020.
c. Organisational structure and decisionwmaking pollcles
The lQrk Session has the spirilual oversight of ihe ¢ongregatM)n arKI. as ekdetsffrustees. is also responsible for
the linancial aspects of church lrfe. The Ci)ngregational Committee has responsibilty for the upkeep of the
building, general managemenl, and operaltonal financial planning on behall of the Kirk Session. The elders are
ex officio members of Congregational Commiitee, so the two bodies work together. Both the Kiik Session and
the Congregational Commrttee have a seties of 'Ministy Responsibilities, and 'SubgfOUPS' which look after
specrfic areas covellng all spirrtual and operatDnal fflatte￿. During the past year. these groups and committees
have continued lo meet in person (when FQS5iblel and on zoom. We aL80 have a great team of employed stsff

The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland requiies the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each
