Trustee Annual Report 2019
All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.
The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.

A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
15 girls took part in unit activities. During the year they completed various Girlguiding UK badges including: Confectionery and Independent Living. They also took part in many physical activities, such as, playing captainball and dodgeball, and going on a sponsored walk. They had a dance-athon fundraiser for MacMillan cancer, where everyone dressed in green. They made different crafts throughout the year, including making candles, poppies for Remembrance Sunday and Christmas decorations. In addition, they increased their skills in the kitchen as they learnt to make soup, buns, cookies and pancakes, and also cooked potatoes on a campfire. The girls also took part in Earth Hour, learnt about World Thinking Day and planted seeds. Outings for the year included a going to see a Belfast Giants ice hockey match, taking part in a treasure hunt at Belfast Castle, a trip to the pantomime and going carol singing. They also went on a weekend away to Dunluce Guide House. There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit.

A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year
We began the year with £1,201.05. The total income for the year was £2,148.79, while the total expenditure was £2,238.05. Thus, we ended the year with £1,111.79.

No fund held by the Charity was materially in deficit at the end of the year.
