The principal function of St Matthias. Church. Ballyeglish is to support the advancement of the Christian religion
by promoting, through their %￿rk the whole mission of the Church. pastoral, evangelistic. soclal and e¢)Jmenical.
Being open lo and engaging with society as a vthole and offerirwJ support for those needing help are fvndamentsl
lo the practical delivery of beneffts of Christianity.

Hoty
Communion, Moming Prayer, Baptisms. Mamages and Funerals. The￿ are seNice$ focusing on Advent,
Christma$. Lent Easter. Harv•st •tc. At Christrnas we held our second Candle lit Card Serylce ralslng £1450 for
Marie Curie.
After a perfod of sick leave The Revd Dr Adrlan Strtnger has resigned from the Incumbency of the Parochial
Gioup of De$ertlyn and Ballyeglish with effect from 30 June 2025. Our thoughts and prayer$ are wlh hlm and hi$
famity as they settle into rets'remenL
The nwv Parochial Group of Deserilyn, Baltyeglish & Lissan has been created effect from 1 July 2025 wlh
the Rural Dean being in charge of the parish. Canon Drew Dawson has been deployed in the New Parochial
Group with effect from 1 September 2025 condu¢liNJ Sunday services and dealing with pastoral matters.
Sunday Schoc4 Continues on Sunday mornings al 9.30AM andwe are grateful to parenls for bringln9 thelrchlldren
each week and to all our teachers for their dedKation and SUPFQrt.
At all times we keep In mlnd our Safe Guarding Trust polky. Heallh and Safety requirements and regulation8.
During the ygar VM carried repairs lo the Church roof and updated the el•ctric8 to comply with regulatson8.
The purpose of our charitable lund raising is not only for our own Costs, but also for a variety of need (see
donations li51 note 8). This is a tangible demon3tratK￿ of our mission and oulreach- a reach that covers both
home and abr¢)a¢J.
The Parish has given careful consideralb)n lo th• Charity Commission for Nothern Ireland's guidance on publ
benefit lo ensure that the acb.ves entered inlo during the year have ￿$￿ed to #th￿ve the Parish's objetheg and
activitie5. as well as providing PU￿1¢ benef

The results for the year are set out on page 8. the Trustees consider lo be sati$factory.
The reseNes of the Parish are held for the advancement of its charitable purpo8e. other than re$lricled
reserves which a￿ held for a designated purpose- see note 9.

The trustees have reviewed Ihe budgets for the year ahead are satisfied that thero are adequate fvnds in
pla¢e lo ensure that the Parish can conlinue its actNths aThJ the f￿an￿al ststemenls ftw the year ended 31

elsewhere but have beon accustomed members of the Congregati￿ for at least three months, may register as
member5 of the general vestry of the parish, allowng them to attend and vote al meetings ol the general vestry

Select Vestry is elected as part of this General Ve$try meeting. The Select Vesty will hold their posiliong for a
period of ¢)ne year. Select Vesty m•mbtrs may be re4lected annually and there is no limit on Ihe number of
teims vthich may be served.
Organisatlonal Structurn
The select vestry is responsible for the day to day managomenl of the p¥lsh. The s•lxl vestry consists of the
member of the clergy serving in the parish, any curate assistsnl I'th• curalel, the churchwardens, the glebe
wardens and generally rKJI mor• than other men*&rn of thè general vesty el•ct•d al the General Ve81ry.
The select vestry Is Chaired by the irKumbenl or other member ofthe cler9y officiabng in the parish. Select vestry
members are responsible for making decigions on matters of general ¢￿¢&M and importance lo the parish
Including deciding how parlsh lurbd$ ar• to be applled.
The solect vesty meets ot ttmes fixed by the members or by tho d1¢X￿an synod. Special meetings may be
convened al any b'me by the chairperson or the churchwardens. In 2025 the Select Vestry mel 5 lime5 during
