The Trustees present the annual report and statements of Receipts and Payments and Assets and Liabilrties
for the Church for the year ended 31 December 2025.
Objèctlvos and Activities
The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religion.
The principal function of the Parish of Wcrtxlschapel is to support the advancement of the Christian religion by
promoting. through their work the whole mission of the Church. pastoral. evangeli¢al, social and e¢umeni¢al.
Being open to and engaging with society as a whole and offersng support for those needing help are fundamental
to the practical delivery of the benefrts of Christianity.
As a result of activity in the pursurt of the advancement of Ihe Christian religion, the Parish ol Woodschapel has
custody of property and of records, materials and artefacls of svJnificance lo the cultural and religiou5 heritage
and maintenance of which is undertaken by the Select Vesty of the Parish of Woodschapel.

Weekly services and Community activities were provided throughoul Ihe year.
Both churches and the hall were ullised. We remain commrtted to Health and Safety regulations and our
Safeguardin9 responsibilities.
We continue lo support some charrtable organisations fmancialty. Practscally we provide others wf(h donations
of fooij clothing and basie needs.
The Parish continues to give carefijl consideration to the Charty Commission for Northern Ireland'5 guidance
on public benefit to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's
objectives and aCtw￿"e$, as well as prowding public benefit.

The results for the year are set ¢JJt on page 7, vthich the Tru$lee$ consider lo be sali$faclory.
The reserves ol the Parish are held for the advancement of ils charitable purpoge, other than reslricled
reserves which are held for a desbgnated purpose- see note 14.
Golng Concern
The Trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds in
place lo ensure that the Pansh can continue its activ￿"e5 and the ffinancial statements for the year ended 31
December 2025 can be signed off as a going concem.

Stru¢turn. Gov•man¢e and Management
Governing Document and Constitution of the Chaiity
Chapler111 of the Constitution of the Church of Ireland govems Parishe5 and Parochial Organisalion. The Select
Vestry members are the Charity Trustees.
Recruitment and Appointment ol Select Vestry (Trustees)
All members of the Church of Ireland who are over the age 0118 who are annual subscribers of a sum not less
than £50.00 per annum and are either resident wthin the parish or live elsewhere bul have been ac¢uslomed
members of the congregation may register as members of the General Vestry of the parish, allowing them to
attend and vole at meetings of the General Ve51ry and to 5tsnd for election to the Select Vestry. Meetings of the
General Vestry are held * least once a year. The Select Vestry is elected a$ part of this General Vestry meeting.
The Select Vestry will hold their positions for a period of one year. Select Vestry members may be re-elected
annually and there Is no limrt on the number of terms which may be served.
Oryanisational Strneturn
The Select Vestry takes responsibility for the managing of certain activities and decision making within the parish.
The Select Vestry consists of the member ol the clergy serving in the pansh. any curate assistant I'lhe curale'l,
the churchwardens. the glebe wardens and generalty not nKI￿ Ihan fv￿1¥e other members ofthe General Vestry
elected at the General Vestry Meeting.
The Select Vestry is Chaired by the incumbent or other member of the clergy officiating in the parish. The parish
did not have a permanent rector during 2025.
The Rural Dean, the Reverend Dr lain Jamieson therefore attended al￿ chaired Select Ve51ry meetings.
The Select Vesty 1$ responsible for making de¢isions ¢)n matters ofgeneral concem and importance to the parish
includin9 deciding how parish funds are lo be applied.
The Select Vestry meets al limes fixed by the members or by the diocesan synod. Special meetings may be
convened at any time by the chairperson or the chur¢hwarden$. In 2025 the Select Vestry mel 5 limes during the
year with an avera9e attendance of 17 people.

The Parish has considered the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland's guidance on public benefi't to ensure
that the activities entered Into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's objectives and acb'vib'es, as
well as providing public benefit.

investments. are disclosed on the Statement of Assets & L￿b￿rtIeS.

Glebe land
The Church Buildings and Graveyards are deemed to be Heritage assets as defined by the Charib'es
SORP IFRS1021. These Herrtage assets are not included in the statement of assets and liabilrties as
information on the cost or valuation is not available and such infom)ab"on cannot be obtained al a cost
commensurate with the benefit to the users of the accounts and to the parish.
The Parish Hall, Rectory and Glebe land has been recognised on values which the Sele¢t Vestry deem
to repre$enl the esbmated fair value of the propety al 1 January 2017. No depreciation has been
provided on this building as the current estimated residual value is not less than its carrying value and
the remaining useful life currently exceeds 50 years.
Subsequenl ￿PItal expendilure on these assets a￿ recorded at cost.

Fixed asset investments comprising investment properties, investments in equities lordinary shares) and
investment in RCBICIT Unit Trusts are initially recorded at cost and are then subsequently stated at fair
value al each year end (Jate. Investments in unquoted investments a￿ ￿cOrded al cost and are assessed
annually for impairment.

17. Tran￿¢t￿On$ b¥lth the Trust89$
The parish paid expenses of £3.171.38 relating lo running costs of the glebe house which wag occupied by
the late rector's family. During 2025 the rectory was complelety refurbished al a cost of £56.349.34 No Iruslee
received any remuneration during the year, other than Roy Patterson who was paid £700 as an honorarium for
grass cutting and his wife Dori5 Patterson £900 as an honorarium for her role as the Parish caretaker. No other
Iruslee or a person related lo a Iru$lee had any personal Inte￿$1 in any contract or transaction entered into by
the charity during the year.
18. Govemance Costs
Governance costs of £500 were incurred during the year of £500 relates to fees paid to the independent
examiner. Governance costs are included within Administraknon costs in the Receipts and Payments Accounts.
