STRABANE GROUP Registered with the Charity Commission, Northern Ireland CHARITY NUMBER- NIC 104338 Riding for the Disabled- Strabane Group offers horse riding to children with dlsabllltles wlthln the Strabane area. The Principal address for the Charity is Mrs. Avril PollocK 29 Grovemount Park. Londonderry, BT47 5SQ and the contact for the Charlty Commisslon Is Mrs. Anne Kennedy• 3 Carrlck Strand. Strabane. BT82 9RN. The group meets each Wednesday rnornlng durfng sclK>oI terni tlme. An A.G.M. was held on 16 June 2021 outllnlng the safety measures and the provlslon of safety of all concerned. As a result of thls we could only work woth one school Instead of four schools in a group. The group closed in March 2019 due to the pandemlc and sonce the reopenlng after lockdown on September 15 the group works woth approximately seven (7) pupils one school. namely Knockavoe Speclal School. As well as learnlng to rlde, the chlldren learn to be comfortable around the animals. and perforni the care and grooming of the horses and the care and storage of the saddles, numnahs etc. All actlvltles are carrled out at the Ashlee Rldlng School, Carrlcklee. Strabane. thus provldlng premlses and facllltles at a cost of £75 per mornlng. Ms. Julle Duffy Is the owner and the quallfled coach for the group. Mrs. Laura Early Is also available as coach. The premises cost Is the largest outlay of expendlture. as the coach and all helpers are volunteers. Most of the volunteers have upto date Child Protertion and First Aid Certificates. We have very few volunteers (10) In the group as a result of the pandemic and have been unable to fund-ralse.

Normally the Group would have ralsed funds elther through a Bag Pack at ASDA or a foyer collectoon. and also from collertlon boxes In local shops. The rnain problems that the group Is fadng thls year Is a lack of volunteers and a need for fundralslng to facllltate the runnlng of the group. Volunteers have been encouraged to use The Easyfundln8 App when shoppln8 online and a percentage Is donated to the group. All volunteers and coaches have completed the Enhanced Access (N.1.) check. The Group has a Chlld Protertlon /Safeguardlng Policy. updated annually and most volunteers have an up-to-date Flrst Ald Certlficate. There Is always a nominated First Alder at each lesson. The group has fulfilled the funrtlon In accordance wlth the Constitution and at all tlmes has adhered to the Commlsslon's guklance on Publk Benefit and has met the obllgatlons In regard to above.
