Basls of Hnandal Statements
As the total Income of the congregation is less than £250,0(J) the congregation have
elected in accordance wlth the provisions in The Charftles (Accounts and Reports
Re8ulations) (Northern IrelarKI) 20￿ to prepare its accounts on a re￿Ipts and
payments basis.
Endowment funds are fund5, the capital of whlch must be retained either pernianently
or at the congreeatlon's discretion,. the income derived from the endowment is to be
used elther as restricted or unrestricted Income funds depending upon the purpose
for which the endowment was establlshed in the first place.
Restricted funds comprise (a) income from endowments which ￿ to be expended only
on the restricted purposes intended by the donor and {bl revenue donations or
grants for a speclfic congregatlonal actlvlty intended by the donor. Where these funds
have unspent balaft￿$, interest on their pi)oled investment Is app(Mtioned to the
individual fund5 on an average balance basis.
Unrestrirted funds are Income funds which are to be Spent on the congre8ation's general
purposes. Desl8nated funds are general funds set aside by the congregation for use in
the future.
