## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year**

Our programme is divided into different themes. ‘Theme Awards’ go towards Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

Brownies started the year with activities to mark Girlguiding Ulster’s Centenary year. We completed the _Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow Badge_ , as well as celebrating our own unit’s 90th year. We completed a Promise Owl craft and created a time capsule to open in 10 years’ time. The girls completed 100 _Good Turns_ and found out about Brownies around the world. We tried _Animal Yoga_ and the YLs led an activity from their old Brownie Books.

We completed an _Explore Skills Builder_ - exploring how we might travel by road, rail, sea or air, found out about OS map symbols, how to stay safe in the sun, and how we would explore a new city while keeping safe. We made sextants and used them to find treasure. We also completed the _Communicate Skills Builder_ - exploring the meanings of emojis, settling our nerves to prepare for public speaking, practiced BSL finger spelling and using the NATO phonetic alphabet to pass messages through paper cup 'telephones'.

We completed other activities from the different themes. These included trying out different sports and creating our own rules, working as a team to find solutions to deal with some sticky situations and showing we could remember instructions to pass on. We learned about fire safety, decorated cupcakes with constellations and tried out ballet moves, making up our own routines. We got outside to blow giant bubbles and see who could make the best paper airplane. Some girls made sunspot viewers for the _Space badge_ . The girls choose which badges they want to do themselves. Just some of the badges completed were _Mindfulness_ , _Baking, Inventor_ and _Aviation_ .

We took part in the Thinking Day Service and a Division Carol Service. We enjoyed a visit from a Magician. Outings throughout the year included Bowling and Clip ‘n Climb and a trip to the zoo with Rainbows and Brownies from all over Northern Ireland.

During our pack Holiday we took part in Archery and the Gladiator Challenge. We had animal crafts and activities. We also took part in a Campfire with other groups. We even got to lead the other groups singing a couple of our favourite songs. The Brownies’ families joined us at the end of the weekend as our Awards were given out. Our newest girls made their Promise and all the girls received badges for Archery & the Gladiator Challenge, as well as the badges they had been working on. We were very proud as 10 Bronze and 6 Silver Awards were presented. We also had two girls receive the Gold Award, the highest award for Brownies. In November, we enjoyed an international themed sleepover in the Brownie Hall. We made pizza from Italy, created clay tiles, some with Aztec designs and some with animals from around the world.

During all activities the needs of all the girls are taken into account, including those with special dietary requirements or additional needs. There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit.
