Trustees Report Sept 2018 to Sept 2019

The Friends of St Colmcille’s Committee (FSC) was established in October 2015 to bring parents and teachers together to raise money to support and enable the school to buy facilities or equipment outside the normal (core) school budget and thus advance the education of the pupils. The committee is currently made up of 8 people; four parent representatives and four school representatives:

The FSC is registered with the Northern Ireland Charities Commission and PTA-UK. To date the FSC have raised a total of £12,290.64 . Within the school term September 2018 to June 2019 the FSC raised £3457.28 by hosting 3 major events and from donations:

1. Quiz Night 23 November 2019 - £243.00

This was hosted at Killyleagh Yacht Club, Killyleagh

2. Christmas Bingo Night 13 Dec 2018 - £177.00

This was hosted by St Colmcille’s High School, Crossgar.

3. Race Night 23 March 2019 - £1787.28

This was hosted by Corner Inn, Crossgar

4. Thales Group donated £1250.00

Following receipt of funding applications from teachers and staff at St Colmcille’s, below is a breakdown of the funding the committee approved:

In June 2017 the FSC was awarded a Community Lottery Grant of £10,000 for a Remembrance Garden/Outdoor Gym, a planting ceremony was to be held on 1 June 2018. This was delayed until 6 September 2019.

The FSC wish to thank all the staff and pupils of St Colmcilles’s High School, parents/grandparents, the local church, all the local businesses and the Crossgar Community for their continuing support of FSC events.
