ACHIEVEMENTS, PERFORMANCES AND PUBLIC BENEFIT
We provide worship and prayer on a weekly basis on Sunday. Our weekly worship and prayer is for all sections of the public. We offer a Sunday school facility for children on a weekly basis from September to June. This facility is for young children and youth. In accordance with guidance from Local government and the Church of Ireland Public worship was suspended as a result of the covid 19 pandemic. To compensate for the Sr Valerie formed a what’s ap group and shared weekly
services via previously recorded services. Significant effort was made to involve the youth and families with many of them recording bible readings and prayers which were included in the weekly services. All of these were collected electronically and shared via what’s ap. All services and activities were conducted in accordance with the covid19 guidance in place at that time. Additionally CD’s of the services were made and distributed on request to those who did not have access to suitable technology.
The pastoral care provided within our parish is outstanding, it was provided in many instances via phone and or other technological systems where appropriate. Within our parish we have a choir. The choir performs at special services eg Harvest and Christmas. Special worship services include Family services once a month, Easter Services, Orange Service, Harvest Services and Carol Services. These services are available to all sections of the public. All of these services help advance Christian Religion, support public worship and the spiritual well-being of all participants. They reinforce Christian values. Child protection and health and safety issues are always checked and complied with. Safe Guarding Trust training was provided at a diocesan level (Venue was Castlecaufield parish) for all wishing to participate. The parish has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on the public benefit to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish’s objectives and activities, as well as providing public benefit.
