We have really enjoyed the last year of PTA activities. There have been changes in positions and some new parents have come along to support all the PTA endeavours.
On 28th February 2023 Sharon Browne was appointed chair and Gemma Wilson was appointed Secretary.
The PTA were awarded a community grant from the Lotto Awards for All scheme. We were awarded £10 000 to use for a whole community coronation celebration. The school enjoyed a coronation party in school followed by a colour run event opened to the whole Kells and Connor community. The event included a colour run at the local football pitches followed by inflatables, petting zoo and DJ etc. in the school grounds.
The event was very well attended and spoken of very positively throughout the local community. It was a celebration of a local community coming together and was a much enjoyed event.
We held a used toy sale in school using items donated by pupils. This event was well supported and the children absolutely loved getting to buy a toy to take home. This was a simple, yet successful way to raise funds for the PTA.
Between our events, grants and the extremely generous donations of parents and those in our local community we have been able to purchase much needed ICT equipment for our school. This has included iPads, laptops and an interactive whiteboard. The school has benefited greatly from the efforts of our PTA.
