Purposes of the Association
– Purpose 1
Advancement of Education of the pupils in the school.
Our PTA have worked very hard over the last year to raise much needed funds for the school to improve their overall education and maintain good links with the parents. St Joseph’s Primary School is a small rural school with 132 children. The pupils in the school make good progress which is greatly enhanced through them having access to resources, activities and events which cannot be funded by the school budget in the current financial constraints. The principal activity for achieving this objective is by holding fundraising activities throughout the year. The main areas for fundraising were to contribute towards purchasing outdoor equipment and play equipment for the children, Maths resources for teaching and learning, netball bibs for netball team, and to purchase a defibrillator for the school community.
The main fundraising activities held during 2023/2024 were as follows: -
Christmas raffle
Split the pot
Tuck shop at Christmas show
Tombola
Sponsored Frenzy Fitness
Yes Day
Not only did these events provide a social occasion for staff, pupils and parents in the school, but also raised funds to further enhance pupils’ learning across the school from the money raised and improve the overall health and wellbeing of the children.
Money raised and donated to the school was used to help fund the following: -
Outdoor Literacy and Numeracy resources
Netball bibs for the netball team
Maths resources
