The trustees present the annual report and statements of Receipts and Payments and Assets and Liabilities
for Termonma8uirke Parish Church for the year ended 31 December 2024.
Oble¢tlves and Actlvltles
The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religion.
The principal function of Termonma8uirke Church of Ireland Parish is to support the advancement of the
Christian reli8lon by promoting the work of Termonma8uirke Parish Church the whole mission of the Church,
pastoral. evangelistic, social and ecumenical. Being open to and engaging with society as a whole and
offering support for those needing help are fundamental to the practical delivery of the benefits of
Christianity.
As a result of activity in the pursuit of the advancement of the Christian religion, Termonmaguirke Church of
Ireland Parlsh has custody of property and of records, materials and artefacts of signif icance to the cultural
and reli8ious heritage and maintenance of which is undertaken by the select vestry of Termonmaguirke
Church of Ireland Parish.
Achlevements, Performance & Publlc 8enefit
The rnain activities undertaken by the parish to carry out its charitable purposes for the public benefit and
the main achievements durin8 the year are as follows:
Sunday Worshlp
Services of Chrlstlan worship were held every Sunday at 12 noon. Times change to 9.30am in July and
11.00am in Au8USt. Services of Holy Communion, Morning Prayer and Family service take place every
month.
When there is a fifth Sunday in the month there is a service of Wholeness and Healing.
Sunday School takes place at 10.30, in the Church Hall. Sunday School meets during school term time. There
is no Sunday School during family service.
Pastoral vlsltln8
Visits to Hospitals and to parishioners at home are available on request. Most Hospitals and Nursing home
are now open to visits, though some still require a phone call to make an appointment.
School Contacts
The Rector carries out school assemblies in Cooley Primary School, Sixmilecross on a roughly monthly basis,
durin8 school term.
Baptism5, Weddings and Funera15
There were two Funerals and one Baptism in 2024. There was no comfirmation this year.
81ble Study
A Bible Study was held during Lent. This was held on Wednesday evening5 alternating between Sixmilecross
and Termonmaguirke parish halls. It was, as in previous years, well attended.

Achlevements, Performance & Public Beneflt cont'd
Drop In
The Wednesday morning drop-in has continued throughout the yeai. It has been well attended by up to 14
people per meeting. We have tea and snacks and chat. There is no formal programme and the mostly retired
members seem to enjoy this informal approach.
Mission actlvity
The parish continues to support Cross-links Mission agency. We have a link with Andrew and Eunice Moody
who work in Uganda supporting the Church across the border in South Sudan. We also support a local young
person, Andrew Livingstone who is now working in a Baptist run Youth and Conference centre In France. We
support several local Bood causes such as a food bank In Omagh and Children's charity's with food
collections and toy collections at Christmas.
Up Keep of ground5 and bulldlngs
A team from the parish, under the supervlsion of the Glebe wardens take care of grass cuttin& hedge
trimming etc.
• Rectory - The 8rounds of the rectory are maintained by a professional garden maintenance company. The
Rectory Is In good condition.
Hall- Good Condltlon.
Church - Good condition. We now have a new, modern, toilet wlth disabled access and hot water which
wlll greatly improve access to the 19th Century Church, the grave5 in the adjacent churchyard and our
sepiices and events.
Chlld Protectlon.
The parlsh follows the Church of Ireland chlld protection policyi Safeguarding Trust.
Flnanclal Revlew
As of December 2024, the parish is in a good position, free from debt and with a balance of £32,681 in the
general account and £5,097 in the fabric account.
The trustees hold reserves in the general account to ensure that obligations to the RCB and everyday
running costs can be met. The fabric account is maintained to cover maintenance costs of the 8rounds and
buildings. With historic buildings it is necessary to make provision for eventual substantial maintenance
COSts, particularly for our 19th Century Church Building,
Golng Concern
The trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds
in place to ensure that the Parish can continue it5 activities and the financial statements for the year ended
31 December 2024 can be signed off as a going concern.

Structure, Governance and Management
Governing Documentatlon and Constltutlon of the Charity
Chapter 111 of the Constitution of the Church of Ireland governs Parishes and Pariochial Organisations. The
Select Vestry members are the Charity Trustees.
Re¢rultment ondAppolntment of Select Vestry (Trusteesj
The select vestry is recruited and appointed at the Annual Easter Vestry accordin8 to the rules of the Church
of Ireland.
Orqanisatlonal Structure
The select vestry is responsible for the day to day management of the parish. The select vestry consists of
the member of the clergy serving in the parish, the churchwardens, the glebe wardens and generally not
more than twelve other members of the general vestry elected at the Gerneral Vestry.
The select vestry is chaired by the incumbent or other member of the clergy officiating in the parish. Select
vestry members are responsible for making decisions on matters of general concern and importance to the
parish including decidin8 how parish funds are to be applied.
The select vestry meets at times fixed by the members or by the diocesan synod. Special meetings may be
convened at any time by the chairperson or the churchwardens.
Pay and remuneratlon
The incumbent of the parish is paid a stipend, locomotory allowance and off ice expenses in accordance with
figures approved by the general Synod of the Church of Ireland.
Compllance wlth Publlc Beneflt
The Parish has 85ven careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on
public benefit to ensure that the activities entered into durin8 the year have helped to achieve the Parish's
objectives and activities, as well as providing public benefit.

Statement of Trustees, ResponslbilitSes
The trustees are responsible for preparin8 the Trustees, Report and the statement of receipts and payments
and statement of assets and liabilities in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable to charities In Northern Ireland with Income of less than £250,000 requires the trustees
to prepare a statement of receipts and payments and a statement of assets and liabilities for each financial
year.
The trustees are responsible for keepln8 accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the
Parish's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and laibilities of the
Parish. They are also responsible for safeguardin8 the assets of the Parish and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irre8ularities.

I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 Decemeber 2024, which are set out on pages 9 to
13.

Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.

state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
8asls of Independent examlnerfs report
I have examined your charity accounts as required under sertion 65 of the Charlties Act and my examination
was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern
Ireland under section 6519llbl of the Charities Act.
My examination included a revlew of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the
accounts presented wlth those records. It also included conslderation of any unusual item5 or disclosures In
the accounts, and seekin8 explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters.
My role is to State whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe..
l) That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act
21 That the account5 do not accord with those accounting records
31 That the accounts do not comply with the accountin8 requirements of the Charitles Act
4) That there is further information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be

Accounting policles
Set out below are the principal accounting policies which have been adopted in the compiliation
of the Receipts and Payments Account and the Statement of Assets and Liabilities.
(a} Receipts and Payments Account
All item5 of income and expenditure included within the Receipts and Payments Account have
been accounted for on a cash receipts basis.

The assets of the Parish. retained for its own use comprise:.

Caretakers Holtse
The Church 8uildin8 and Graveyard are deemed to be Heritage a55ets as defined by the Charlties
SORP IFR51021. These Heritage assets are not included in the statement of assets and lia bilities
as information on the cost or valuation Is not available and such information cannot be obtained
at a cost commensumerate with the benefit to the users of the accounts and to the parish.
Glebe House
The Parish owns 4￿ of the Glebe House which is reco8nised at deemed cost {40% insured
value), being the estimated fair value of the property at 31st December 2024. No depreciation
has been provided on this buildings as the current estimated residual value is not less than its
carrying value and the remaining useful life currently exceeds 50 years.
Church Hall, Sextons House, Caretakers House and Church Toilet
These assets are recognised at deemed cost (insured valuel, bein8 the estimated fair value of the
properties at 31st December 2024. No depreciation has been provided on these buildings as the
current estimated residual values are not less than their carrying values and the remaining useful
lives currently exceed 50 years.
(li) Investments
Fixed asset investments which comprise of investments in RCB are initially recorded at cost and
are then subsequently stated at fair value at each year end date.

Sunday School Fund- The Trustees have set aside funds for use by the Sunday School.
Missionary Fund - The Trustees have Set aside funds from special collections for Charitable
Donations.

Transartlons wlth the Trustees
The parish paid expenses of £1,592 relating to the running costs of the glebe house which is
occupied by the rector. It also paid expenses of £1,481 relating to the running costs of the
Sextons house which is occupied by a trustee, Mrs M Smith. Mrs M Smith also recelved £200
durin8 the year in relation to Church cleaning and maintenance.
Governance Costs
No Governance costs were incurred during the year as the independent examiner provided the
service free of charge.
