## **Trustee Annual Report Form** **All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.** **The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.** **Name of Charity as it appears on the Register and any other names it may be known by** St Patrick’s (Broughshane) Rainbow Unit **NI Charity Commission Number** 104217 **The principal address of the Charity- this should be the address that was used at the time of registration with the Charity Commission** 15 Church Entry, Broughshane, Ballymena, BT42 4NH **The names of all Charity Trustees on the date the report was approved and all individuals who served as Charity Trustees during the year** Catharine Elizabeth Doig Geraldine Linford **1** Lori Hartman **[st] September 2022 to 31[st] August 2023** Joanne Robinson **The financial year the report relates to –** **1[st] September 2022 – 31[st] August 2023** **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year** In the year September 2022 to August 2023 we had 20 Rainbows, 1 Leader, 2 Leaders in training , 2 Young Leaders and 1 unit helper. A discussion between Leaders and Girls in September formed the basis of the programme for the year. Special occasions were marked such as Halloween, Remembrance Day, Christmas, Valentines, International Women’s Day, Thinking Day, Easter and Mother’s Day. We had visitors including two local doctors and a visually impaired member of our community and her seeing eye dog. At Christmas the Rainbows joined with other Units on a trip to the Cinema, funded by the EA Grant money. To celebrate the King’s Coronation we had a joint party with all Girl Guiding units in Broughshane. Many girls completed Interest Badges at home and in the Unit we worked on themes such as “ Express Myself”, “Be Well“ and “Have Adventures “. Two girls achieved their Gold Awards, one achieved Silver Award and one achieved Bronze Award. Eight girls ‘graduated’ from Rainbows and moved on to Brownies (with one moving to Beavers). ## **A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance** All Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance. **A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year** The Unit remains in a healthy financial position, at the end of August 2023 the Bank balance was £2260.08, cash in hand was £51.76 Total income for the year was £3665, total expenditure was £2372.73 **Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit** The Charity had no funds in deficit at the end of the year. **One or more of the Charity Trustees must sign and date the box below.** Cathy Doig
