Purpose of Charity :
This Scout Group, which is part of the Scout Association in Northern Ireland, actively
engages and supports young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

Main Activities and Targets Achieved :
All sections followed the Scout Progressive Training Programme for their age, which provides a balance of activities from all the main Youth Curriculum areas.
Through this guidance, the leaders developed a Weekly, Monthly and Annual Programme which included a wide range of activities both inside the Scout hall and in the Outdoors.
Youth Service Curriculum Targets :
As an approved and registered Youth Group by the Education Authority, we planned to meet the 13 Key Youth Work Target Areas. Every 3 months the leaders review the sectional programmes and prepared a Final Progress Report, which can be discussed at a meeting with the E.A. Youth Officers.

Sectional Programme Reports:

Beaver Scouts This Section has enjoyed an exciting Programme this year following their restart with new leaders. They had a weekly meeting every Tuesday and each member achieved the Challenge badges for the year. They also went to some of the District events and in the summer months had a variety of outdoor rambles and activities in the local area.

Cub Scouts – There was an average of 22 attending each Thursday evening for 38 weeks following the Cub Programme. 60% of the Cubs completed the Awards Section appropriate to their age, 45 Proficiency Badges and 6 Chief Scouts Silver Awards gained. They took part in the Tidy Randalstown days collecting litter and maintained the garden at the Scout hall. They had a wide range of outings to places like ; Fire Station, Shane’s Castle Estate and the Swimming Pool.

Scouts & Explorer Scouts : - There were approx.. 14 Scouts and 8 Explorer Scouts attending on average each Friday evening using our 2 halls. The Explorers also met on their own on different nights and days for their more adventurous programme of activities, with canoeing being the most popular.

The Scout Section focused on several badges covering Canoeing, Camping, Hiking, DIY and the Environment. Both sections had both short overnight lightweight camps and together they went to Fermanagh for their Summer Camp in July.
