## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year**

Guiding returned to normality after covid guiding in 20-21 and 21-22. We had 5 guides and 2 rangers attending regularly and following the Girlguiding programme of activities. Highlights included a trip to Share Ice-skating in December 22 and the return of the annual county camp in Summer 22. As we did not have any girls attending international camps we did not do any official fundraising and concentrated on core guiding activities in the unit. The focus was to reestablish the position of guiding in girl’s lives and getting together to have fun and follow the guiding programme.

There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and that there was no private benefit.

## **A statement that the Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance**

Charity Trustees are legally obliged to have regard to this guidance. The trustees confirm that all Trustees are aware of this. We belong to Girl Guiding Ulster and Girl Guiding UK and follow the statutory processes and guidance coming from these parent bodies.

## **A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year**

State in this box the overall financial position, if relevant include details of any debts or any reserves policy. Include current and previous financial figures for income and expenditure, these should be taken form the receipts and payments accounts.

The opening Balance on 1.4.22 was 2326.96. Income was received from subs paid by the 7 girls of the unit (450) and also camp fees from the 3 girls attending the summer county camp (£150). The main expense was census (fees paid to GGUK, GGU and GGFermanagh) amounting to £322, camp fees (£150) and craft materials (£37.90). This left a closing balance on 31.3.23 of 2417.06

## **Details of any fund held by the Charity that was materially in deficit at the end of the year and steps taken by the Charity Trustees to eliminate the deficit**

Funds that are ‘materially in deficit’ are in shortfall and for e.g. the shortfall in a particular fund may be considered material where it is a substantial amount of total overspend or a substantial amount of overspend relative to the total amount received or likely to have a significant impact on the deliverables of that particular activity.

1[st] Florencecourt Girl Guides have no assets or liabilities. We have a closing balance in profit due to pre-pandemic fundraising for camps that were cancelled. This will be held in reserve to subsidise opportunities for girls who struggle to pay their annual census and to ensure all girls have equal opportunities to participate in unit activities.
