Trustees Report for the Annual General meeting of the Parents Friends and Staff Association

of Castle Tower School

For year January 2022 to December 2022

Presented at AGM on Thursday 22 June 2023

The Association was set up in October 2008. All parents and friends of current and past pupils have the opportunity to take part in the Association. In December 2009 we became an official Charity.

Round up of the year

In February donation monies were received from Galgorm Manor and Andys Big Walk for Kristen.

The start of 2022 was still under strict covid restrictions but after relaxation of these our AGM was held on 17 June 2022 in school premises.

All minutes and Reports were read out and passed.

All office positions duly elected.

After further relaxation of Covid restrictions, at our September meeting, plans were made for:

Coffee morning with representatives from Sense providing valuable information to those who attended

A Pub Quiz which had phenomenal attendance and success at The Thatch Inn in Broughshane

Disney Cars these donated toys raised further funds for PFSA

A Christmas Fair with market stalls, Santa, food, fun and games proved to be a successful event also.

The yearly Christmas Card design was completed in school, raising more valuable funds for PFSA.

PFSA still get monetary payments from Smile Amazon. These relate to a percentage of sales of goods bought on Amazon using the Smile Amazon site. 4 such payments were received throughout 2022. This has now been discontinued by Amazon.

As Bank of Ireland closed its Ballymena Branch a decision was taken by PFSA to set up a new business account with Danske Bank. This is currently still in progress

The Treasurer has the Accountants’ breakdown of the 2022 year accounts, for your perusal.

Finally, I would just like to thank everyone, who has helped in any way, or supported the Association over the past year. We are always looking for more volunteers, so if you have any fund-raising ideas, or could spare a few hours to help us, please feel free to speak to any of the PFSA Committee members.
