Beavers attended Remembrance Day service, took part in our annual Carol service and Holy week service.
We celebrated Chinese New Year in February. It was the year of the “Rooster”, we looked at cultures around their New Year and finished the evening off with Prawn crackers and Lychees.
We had our annual Mums night, our programme was based around a fitness badge. We played Fruit salad, had an egg and spoon race, played hoola hoops and skipping. We ended our evening with a healthy eating fruit salad and a drink.
Our annual “Dads” night was based around a Camping badge. Dads and their Sons made tents, learned how to make Reef knots, made “smores” (melted marshmallows between Biscuits) on a disposable barbeque.
Other activities included making Mother’s Day cards, Valentine’s Day cards, we had a nature trail in the Church grounds and conducted a Traffic survey. We made Rice crispy buns and made Spider hand prints for Halloween and mince pies for Christmas.
Badges awarded throughout the year included:
Collectors badge 5
Faith Badge 8
Health and Fitness 6
Hobbies 9
Camp Craft 7
The badge work is embedded in our programme each week therefore if boys do not attend for each of the required activity for each badge it is not given.
