th J4 Belfast Scouts Leader Meeting- 31 August 2023 Cairnshill Methodist Church Present: Neil, Lynn, Gavin, Max G, AT, Noel, Chris Apologies: Nicolle, Max J, Michael and Ben Matters arising: nd l) Communication of start date122 Sept) to parents by section heads 21 Leader cover. It was noted that Ewan is studying in Dundee this yearso we wish him well and look forward to him returning next year. We welcome Michael back to run squirrels with Lynn and then in her absence. Gavin has a busy few months with important exam5 so whilst he could organise the programme, he needs the Beaver leaders to run Friday nights as he may not be about much this term. Likewise Neil will not be about every week but will continue to run the group side of things and will be there to help out when required. We wish Lynn well forthe rest of her pregnancy and look forward to hearing her news in due course. We talked about seeking parents as helpers/leaders but agreed to leave It for now as they can be more of a burden, particularly in the younger sections. 3) Term Dates as follows: sept 22 - Start back Sept 29- normal night Oct 6-Swim up all sections Oct 13- Swim up catch up Oct 20- Halloween party {sections to organise their own) Oct 27 AND Nov 3 OFF Half Term Nov 10, 17, 24- normal night Dec l- normal night Dec 8- Christmas Party closes us until 12 Jan 2024 4) New Joiners Neil agreed to forward on any enquiries to section heads so they car) communicate to the parents asking about our scouts. We may have a waiting list depending on who returns and who is swimming up. If need be just tell parents that and we will come back to them as soon as we know the situation a few weeks after we return on 22 Sept.
Lynn suggested that she will do some intake and advertising for new members too 5) AOB Agreed to keep costs to £60 with one electronic payment as soon as we open up again. Everyone must keep on top of their emails regarding training and do them as soon as they are reminded please. A certificate of completion can be emailed to me so that we can get Compass updated etc...
