Trustee’s annual report. 24th September 2024

List of Trustees Carlton McAlister William Cardwell Nigel O’ Neill Mark Armstrong Gavin Adams Adam Fittis John Fittis

During the last year the Major Sinclair Memorial has produced 20 competition performances cross grades 4B, 3A and 2 resulting in 35 prizes including 3A Champion of champions as a band Drum Corp. and Bass and tenor section. This makes it the most successful year in the bands history! The band also participated in 3 parades, and Belfast Tradfest. :

Membership has remained constant, reducing the challenges for uniform etc.

A full program of practice sessions and teaching lessons took place throughout the year under the musical direction of Nigel O’Neill (Pipes) and Mark Armstrong (Drums).

The band Traveled to Virginia USA in April to take part in the 2025 Viginia Military Tattoo which was a great success with very positive feedback from the organizing committee. We have already been asked when we would be able to return. The Band was followed by a film crew and are expected to feature on the BBC’s “The Band” program. The vast majority of expense was covered by the members traveling.

On the financial front we are in a healthy condition and finished the year in an improved position. Future expenditure will include replacement of the tenor drums for the 2026 season.

In summary We the Trustees are satisfied that the organization is well run financially sound and are pleased with the musical standard and competition success. John Fittis _ \ eeee s On Behalfof Major Sinclair Memorial Pipe Band.
