Ballymoney Scout Group
Chairmans Annual Report 2018
This year has been one of exceptional change and forward movement within the group.
We have totally digitised our systems, making it simpler to join and maintain membership, enhanced our virtual presence with an updated website, social media and online presence. We have been supported by former leader and parent David at David Hoy WP to achieve this.
The sections have been going from strength to strength also with more young people availing of our services than ever before. All sections have taken part in both Northern Ireland and County events.
Beavers, the new leadership team has delivered a varied and enjoyable programme and managed to recruit a few more volunteers,
Cubs – Has a new ‘Akela’ and is looking forward to a full programme, including Cubjam in Belfast this year.
Scouts – growing even further and developing a name for itself within the county with Shere Khan (David) in charge forging a very outdoors programme. The skills being learnt here are being carried forward with our older members going forward to join the Night Owls County Explorer Unit.
As a group we still suffer from poor attendance at our AGM and a lack of volunteers for our executive committee, something we are hoping to address this year as we are now a very stable, strong group.
Financially the streamlined payment systems have allowed up to purchase equipment, maintain our bus, enhance the programmes and send leaders on suitable training.
I look forward to seeing you all at events throughout the year, especially the second annual Group Camp – to be held in Ballylough House this year.
Your in Scouting
