The Group is managed by Ihe Group Trustee Board, Ihe
mernbers of which are the 'Ch8rily Trustees, of the Scout
Group which is an educational charity. As Charity tru8lee8
they are responsible for complying with legislalion
applicable to charilieg. This includes the regi8lrakn'on,
keeping proper accounls and making returns lo the Charity
Commission as appropriale.

quality and safe programmes that gives young people skllls

which they belièvè th8 Group Is exposed, Ihese have been
r8vlewed and systems have been established lo mlligate
ag8inst them. The maln areas of concern that have been
identified are:
Damage to the buildlng. property and equipment. The Group
would requesl tho use of buildings, property and equlpment
from neighbourlng organisatlons such as the church,
¢ommunity centre and other Scout Groups. Simllar
reciprocal arrangements exlst wilh these organisations. The
Group has sufflclenl buildlngs and contents Insurance In
place lo mitigate agalnsl permanent loss.
Inlury lo leaders, helpers. supporters and members, The
Group through Ihe capitation fees contributes to the Scout
Associallons national accidenl Insurance policy, Risk
Assessments are undertaken before all activities,
Reduced Income from fund rai$lng. The Group Is primarlly
rellant upon Income from subscriptlons and fundraising. The
group does hold a reserve to ensure Ihe continvlty of
activilies should there be a major redu¢lion In Income. The
Board could ralse Ihe value of Subscriplions to Increase the
Income to the group on an ongoing basis, elther temporarlly
or permanently.
Reduction or loss of leaders. The group Is lolally rellant
upon volunteers lo run and administer the aclivllies of the
group.11 there was a reduction In the number ol leaders lo
an unaccepiable level in a particular se¢lion or the group as
whole then there would have lo be a contractlon,
consolidallon or closure of a seclion. In the worst case
scenario the complete closure of the Group.
Reductlon or loss of members, The Group provldes
activities for 811 young people aged 4 to 18. If there was a
redu¢lion in membership in a particular section or the group
as whole then there would have to be a contracllon,

designed lo provide re8sonable assurance against material
mismanagement or loss. these include 2 signatories for als
payments and a comprehensive Insurance policies lo
ensure thal insurabl8 risks are covered.
